I noticed my transaxle is leaking, (wet lower control arm and dripping), at the seam between the right side short shaft housing and the main body of the trans. Almost like the attaching bolts are loose or the gasket has gone bad. The car only has 74k on it and it is never been abused. What will it take to fix this leak?

Also, where is the fill plug? I want to top the fluid up before I drive it again till I get it fixed.

Thanks for the advice.

That's a strange leak.

Download this link, follow illustration #13-3.

You may need a tube and/or a cyphon and fill it from above or pump the fluid in...

Had the car on the lift tonight and found a "shipping cap" installed over the vent tube. This caused the fluid to expand when the trans warmed up and allowed it to be forced by the axle shaft seals instead of the pressure being relieved through the vent. Removed the cap, fabricated a vent line, 2 cans of brake clean to clean the case up. Drove it about 70 miles and no more leaks. Bone dry. Got lucky. Also learned Honda didn't use gaskets to seal case to case joints, just silicone from the factory.

Thanks for the feedback.
