H22!!!!!!!

hey guys i drive a 5 th gen but my friend has a 3rd gen so...

ok so he has a H22 in there with a AEM V2/stock exhaust except a test pipe..

so i was driving behind him and he was ripping the car from a stop and i think threw 1st, 2nd, 3rd he shot out a flames!!! now y does it happen in the 3rd gen w/ a H22?(the motor was from a 97 SH):confused:

what kind of ecu does he have? Was the car tuned air/fuel timing etc...?

stock ecu and he doesnt hav a "flammer" kit lol cuz its gay. i was there every step of the way and his **** is mostly stock!!!!

The only thing I can think of is for some reason he is getting left over fuel and its being burned through the exhaust. Stock piping.....

i was going to say that he's running rich... but then again i've read reports where by taking out the cat, it's possible to get flames. but the conditions have to be ideal.

the right rpms, right amount of gas etc.

I hear about 3rd gens doing this more than any other Lude... I wish my 4th gen would do that :D

I guess your friend is running a straight pipe, no Catalytic converter, no resonator, no muffler...that has to be the only way. Exhaust gases, running extremely rich and when in contact with fresh air...FLAME ON!

Tell your friend, please save the Earth...get a proper exhaust system.

I know of a 3rd gen H22 powered lude with a few mods not just bolt ons.... He has never spit flames out the tail pipe.....


Seems like it's running rich...... any black-dark smoke coming out of the exhuast?

my 3rd gen with b21 had open exhaust and was a fame shootin lil mofo... it was running rich tho
