I just found this one on trademe.co.nz. An uber rare SiStates for only $1200US, I feel really stupid now because I just brought a 89' Prelude S just last week for almost the same price as the SiStates. Although my Prelude S is super clean in and out I still don't feel much better.

Damn that sucks!! I totally feel like crap now, if only I knew!!! But oh well at least my Prelude has a whole lot less that can go wrong with it I suppose...
Can you guys make me feel better about my 'blundered' purchace at all?

In the end, it's gonna be thousands more to get the car over here and registred and **** so you're not missing out on much although it would be nice to have one.
I don't feel bad cause I just bought an FC that has a bad tranny and 2 bad motors when I coulda been in debt for 10 more years to get this

Yeah I am from NZ and the SiStates is even in the same city that I live in. But I do come back to my original argument, as a +15 year car all of those nice little bonuses like all the electrics and so on will eventually stop working and I will have to spend more money on it in the long run. Maybe I should just be happy with the wind-down windows of my Prelude S :)

haha but yeah im with B on this one, its an SiStates! i would love to have that car, i wonder how much it would cost to ship it here? but not as much goes wrong with the electronics as you may think, i haven't really had any problems with any of mine, the worst thing that happened to one of them was the passenger side window motor went out but it wasn't that expensive of a part, just a pain in the *** to change. but really you should consider reselling your car and buying that one or just buy that one for the hell of it and put it in your garage for a couple of years and give me some time to save up some more money and ill buy it from you!

Oh yeah... so can anyone give me an idea how rare the SiStates is, I mean like how many we're ever made. I have hit up wikipedia but there is not that much info on there.

not exactly sure how many were actually made, everything i've ever read about them says very few were made, but they have all the goodies and they are 100% JDM at it's finest

Hey, were those SiStates Right hand drives? anwser: yes
btw,
I work for fedex. With my discount I'd be looking at around $700 to ship it here. $4200 to fly it over here (yes, they do that) ...I'm kinda thinking about picking it up. It would mean selling my current lude... but like everyone says, It's an SiStates. I'm only gona be this young and stupid once.
Alright... no I wouldn't buy that one, because it's automatic. But I would buy this one.

Sorry to burst your importing /exporting bubble but Trademe is exclusively for New Zealand / Australlian residents only. So you guys can not register. Bummer I know.

yeah all SiStates are right hand drive, they were only produced in Japan, but go get it, somebody needs to, it wouldn't be a stupid thing either, the value of that thing is insanely high to anybody who knows anything about 3rd gen ludes!!

Still doesn't mean you can't help out fellow luders with a point in the right direction when they fly over to buy it!

So please answer me this question, how rare are these Sistates? How many we're made, I mean you guys seem pretty serious about getting your hands on one. Please tell me why are they so rare?

ok well, i thought that the Si 4ws and the abs was as rare as it got for the 3rd gens and i have 3 4ws ludes and i have seen numerous alb versions, but when started to get more and more sucked into this wonderful world of prelude ownership i learned about the SiStates, they're like one in a million, and i've never actually seen one in person before so all i can do is drool over picures on the computer

They are very, very rare cars.
I think something like 500-800 were only made, available in Japan only.
If you live in the States, registering it to drive legally will be an, "Indiana Jones-like journey" lol...
that pic you see in Wikipedia of the SiStates is M1k30rz's(Mike) on pp.com & Preludeaustralia.com...i speak to him sometimes on chat. He just did an Auto to manual swap.
Oh, the SiStates only came in Automatics bytheway...:smashfreakB:
Here's his CD:

and no, that kit isn't stock, that's a 94-97 Accord side skirt and rear/front lip.

yeah thats the only thing that i don't really like about them is the auto tranny but i wouldn't change anything on it, if i could get my hands on one i would leave everything strictly JDM how it is from the factory

Man I feel like a total dick. If I just paid a couple of hundred bucks more I could have brought the SiStates instead of my 89' Prelude S. I did not realize that they we're like the holy grail of hondas lol. It is a real pitty that I am broke now otherwise...
Anyway I might just take a drive out to have a look at the SiStates, and perhaps even a test drive. But unfortunatly for me that is as close as I will probably ever get :(
I will be sure to report on what it was like.

Hit up that m1k30rz dude, hes on preludepower.com too. He told me the exact amount but I forgot what it was. He also converted his to 5 spd so it's the only 5 spd SiStates on the world.

So anyway I am back. As I said I would take the SiStates for a test drive... boy am I glad I did not buy it.
First of all I would like to say that I loved the pull the engine had very nice but that is kind of where the joy stopped for me. The leather seats were all ripped and perished, there was rubbish all through the car, it did not have TCS, the engine made a really weird rumbling noise when accelerating, the brakes were spongey and the paint was peeling off around the boot.
All in all it was in crap shape. Felt like I was riding a horse that was ready to just roll over and die.
