Hey I own an 89' Prelude S and I have just figured out what the little trigger like button is in the front of my automatic shifter. It is called the S4 switch.

But now I am having an even tougher time trying to figure out just what it actually does. Can anyone give me a run down on what it is for?

I have included this picture of the switch from the 89' Prelude Owners Manual. This is the only picture I could find of it, and no there was no clear explaination as to its function. Any help greatly apreciated!

the S4 is sport mode, on our USDM trigger-type lever you just press that button and you are able to rev longer, utilizing all of the motors "fun" zone. :)

I just found out what S4 does after alot of digging on the net. Quite simple really, S4 is 'Sports 4' basically when you are in sports mode you activate the S4 button when you wish to invoke 4th gear.

So have you tried it?
any thoughts? lol!

my friends 89 used to just hit 6100K using the s4. I wouldn't mind an auto 3g, the ill automatics i've seen in a Honda.
