Hey guys i just got my first prelude. Its a 1989 with 137,000 Miles. Standard. I plan on changing the air filter, motor oil, air filter and spark plugs. Is there anything else i should do? I am unsure of its history and i am affraid of the timing belt going. Anyone have any input on that? How much do they typically cost to have replaced? Also when i start it up the idle shoots up to 3,000 but then settles into below 1,00. I have seen that is pretty typical so at this point im not stressing about it too much. Thanks.

Hey thanks a bunch. But one more thing, what does a typical timing belt replacement cost? I couldnt find that anywhere.
Well.. most of the time.. When Shops change the timing Belt. They want to change the water and oil pump also. To tell ya the truth. Its not that bad of a idea because when you take the timing belt of. The water and oil pump is right there and can be changes easily. But i dont know how much it will cost. Probably close to 500 - 700 bucks if you change the water and oil pump also.
