The latch on my 91 2.0 si was damaged by a burgler. the metal around
the latch was badly torn up. i purchased a new latch, took the liner off the door, took the door off the car and brought it to my welder.
He did a great job restoring the latch slot and the three mounting holes.
I installed the new latch, conected it the inside, outside handles and key lock.
Here's the problem! The welder unbolted the seatbelt mounting bracket
from the door frame and let it wind itself into the upper seat belt reel, to
avoid burning it with his welding torch. Now I cant pull the seat belt off
the reel to pull it back up to the place where it was bolted to the door frame.
It's jammed ! how do I release the tension so i can unwind the belt ?
if anyone knows, it would be a big help.
Thanks
joe

i'm pretty sure there is an angle where you have to pull at. and pull slowly. hopefully that helps

I removed the seat belts & I had the same problem. You just need to install it back on the car (it will positioned the tensioner on the right direction....) then you pull slowlly.
I am sure it will work.
