trunk problem

ok, the other day i shut my trunk and i heard a loud clatter...then my trunk lid got really heavy and hard to lift and i noticed there were some bars hanging down in the trunk...are these the torsion bars? if so, how do i put them back in?

i'll try to take a pic for you tomorrow of how they're set up. but it's dark here now.

ok...there were 2 bars and they had a brown plastic thing on them that looks like it was all that held it up under the rear deck....thanks for the help
