Sup Guys and Gals?
Here is the situation..... I have my motor back together and its in the car. But why the hell wont it start? I don't remember if the fifth gen preludes had an immobilizer or not. Right now I'm running a P13 ecu so I shouldn't have any problems right? So why my shyt ain't starting? I'm also wondering if I need to reset the alarm on it cause if things aren't done in a specific way that can cause the car to not turn over too....
TEL out.
Gimmi some ideas guys. It's valentines day and it would be good to drive my **** out to dinner tonight. My girlfriend have never seen this car. She only knows I work on it a lot. This shyt have me so hyped right now I can't believe it wont start. I'm going to try reseting the alarm and finding out if it does have an immobilizer ASAP. In the mean time through me some other ideas. Shyt's crazy yo!

Alright... diagnostics report from yours truly:
when I turn the key I here my fuel pump primeing. (So it's getting fuel)
It's turning over when I try to start it. (So its not the starter)
I have not checked the main relay yet. (I'm pretty confident that's not the problem.)
I forgot to unplug the ATTS brain from under the dash (Went ahead and did so.)
I need clutch fuid. (Still not a reason for it not to start)
I have new Cap, Rotor, Spark plugs, wires.
It's turning over and won't start. It's getting gas but it won't start. SOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
I drew the conclusion that spark is not being delivered to the combustion chambers. The only thing that is still on my ignition from the blown motor is the Distributor itself. I ordered a new one tonight. it set me back Damn near $400. I won't get it until friday. So I won't have a chance to put it on until Saturday afternoon the earliest. Keep your fingers crossed for me guys. I hope this solves the problem and I can finally see V-Attack again lol.
So my car has a pulse it's just not talking yet.

I got some what of good news. Today was a blessing. I ran into an old friend by the name of Jose. He drives a Geo tracker with a 13b rotory engine. He is also a mechanic. He tells me he doesn't think it's the distributor. He thinks it's the modular inside the distributor. This will cost a hell of a lot less than $400 big ones one would think. He is also going to let me borrow a tool that will tell me exactly where I'm having ignition problems. I don't remember the name of it but it seems God is watching over me. I'll keep you guys posted on it.

If you still think your wires are in the wrong spots I can run out and get a picture of where they go.
And if you want an easy way to check to see if your plugs are making sparks, take out one wire plug and stick a screw driver in it then hold it half an inch from metal and get some one to turn the key. If you are getting sparks they will jump from the screwdriver to the metal.

thanks guys. I really appreciate all the help and luck with this. I found out what the problem is. its the crank sensor. its not located on the crank as one would think. its in the module of the distributor. my delema now is to find out what wires in the distributor to slice. I also have to extend the crank sensor from my harness. I'm no electrician but I have faith that the helms will guide me successfully through this. when I look back at the entire week trying to get the car to start this actually makes sense. thanks guys. I will keep you all posted. I just need to make some time to sit down and tackle this task. I'm sssssooooooo busy with every other thing that's goin on right now. school, work, females and my social life keeps me really busy.

im guessing you went with an OBDI motor. OBDI motors have the crank sensor in the distributor, unlike the OBDII motor on the oil pump. This is why its "correct" to swap over to the OBDII oil pump and OBDII distributor when using an OBDI based motor.

I'm not gay or anything cause I sure do love Women but I love you man... This helped me figured out what the wires do and how to trace them.
Just like precision I have Red, Green, White and Blue. Ofcourse you know green is cylinder 1, Red is 2, blue is 3 and white is 4.
Now From looking at various diagrams and thinking this through logically. I've come to this conclusion that the Black and Yellow (CYP) wire on the dist. Gives signals for #2 and #4. So I'm wondering if I combine The Green and White (cylinder number 1 and 4) and run them to the to the respective wire that gives signal to number 4; then combine the other 2 wires and connect them to the other respective wire if everything would be o.k. Granded that Cylinder 1 and 4 fire together and 2 and 3 fire together.
This is what I've come up with and I'm ready to to combine and connect the wires right now. I just need to know if this is correct or not?
Edit: Also it's weird to me because on the stamp right above the header it has "00" which means it's a 2000 engine.
