So I got the gauge to work. My O2 sensor was just really gummed up. I am finding that at any speed and at any rpm range I am running excessivly rich with the exception of rapid deceleration (going down to lean, which is correct, right?). My understanding is that I should be running rich under heavy load or WOT. But if I am cruising, driving to work, light on the pedal etc, should I still be running rich or should it be stoich? What's the best way to remedy the situation?

Did you reset your ECU after cleaning out the o2 sensor?
you should if you haven't...
...im suprised you didnt buy a brand new o2 sensor.
i still say you should. :yo:

kick it!!
you need one of those piggybacks like the vafc2 or the vafc or whatevers.
and running rich is alright, as long as you dont run lean its all good

Yes, either a SAFC(which really tricks your MAP settings) or an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. You can bump up the PSI a bit.

It looked like th o2 sensor was pretty new. Story behind the car: It was my chicks. She bought it a 3 years back. We got pregnant and parked it for a while. After the baby, we put it back on the road and thats when I really saw how much in rough shape it was body, mechanical, electrical, everything. It was giving her small problems almost every week. So a few weeks ago I offered her a 98 tracker which i rebuilt in exchange for her car. Done. And man o man what a project. Ill post pics of the thing. Kinda before and after. In any case, ecu was reset and the sensor looks like new. ABSNTMND69, you didnt jack the thread, thats one main question I wanted answered. Thanks.

safc is alright adjustable fuel reg with a fuel pressure gauge better. tune up probably needed. all hondas run rich though. excessively rich i dunno what the definition is on that. i have an safc 2 and it is a pretty sweet little piece, it wont do extremes but it is enough to change a few percents of a psi. pplus u are only running a light show af gauge so u might not be running as rich as u think. i would go with a tune up first since the car has been sitting awhile maybe a fouled injector.
Preludes run on the rich side out of the from honda. Any stock are mildly modified prelude with out a Proper tune will run rich. Its not a bad think. Honda made preludes to run alittle rich.
