Hooked up my a/f gauge on the weekend. Connected reading wire from the gauge to o2 wire from ecu (c14 i believe) and still not getting a reading. Any suggestions?

What kind of gauge is it? wideband or light show a/f gauge?

recheck all of your wiring.
The wire you are tapping into is solid white, which is the o2 sensor wire.
I tapped into the wrong wire once and i got a very weak-ass reading until I realized what i did.
*remember, it takes up to 60 seconds for the heated o2 sensor to work. . .

It's a light show a/f gauge. All the led's and backlighting is working fine. I have a 92 4ws, using obd 1. I rechecked the wiring and I did tap into the correct wire (c14 - solid white). I'm thinking I have a bad or dirty sensor. I installed the thing yesterday, drove home, drove back here to work and nada. It's just sitting on the very last "rich led". Thoughts?

Yeah, i wired 2 of these A/F gauges for some friends. . .
One time, the o2 sensor was kaput.
I changed the o2 sensor the next day and then, "CHRISTMAS LIGHT SHOW!"

...so it wont hurt to change your o2 sensor, fresh voltage/reading from the o2 sensor, better fuel economy, light show at night to enterntain the ladies while they ride shotgun

lol, I think the kids might enjoy it more than the ladies. I'll try cleaning up the sensor first and if that don't work, ill replace the thing. Hopefully that does it.

That sensor is most likely covered in carbon and soot.
Cleaning wont help as when an o2 sensor dies, the voltage dies with it. . .
Your best bet is forking over $70 bucks for a new o2 sensor. :yo:

good luck man, let us know!

i dont think it would be the sensor though, if that was the casae then he would be having all sorts of other problems like a rough start or no start and a CEL, bad idle. i have a light show a/f gauge and the reason i asked what is was was to see if u were getting power, but obviously you are. you could be running a bit lean depending on the type of other mods that you have from what i have seen it doesnt take very much for the lean to be lean all the time on a light show gauge. maybe the connection to the o2 sensor wire is loose. it must be something in the wireing or the gauge itself.

Well, I am having no other related problems. My idle is sitting very nicely. Like I said before, it's running and staying on the very last rich led. My self and my brother have gone over the wiring and there seems to be no shorts, loose wires etc. If changing the sensor doesnt work I guess I just got a crappy gauge.

if worst comes to worst at least u did a little preventative maintenance
