well ive got two 12" kicker comps and a 1000 watt amp and that **** hits. ive got a mono channel amp....1 channel for the box. now if u get a say 4 channel amp then thats enough to power ur highs. one channel per speaker. if u thats how u run it. so go with a mono channel to power ur subs and a 4 channel for ur highs..i suggest kicker, rockford, mtx thunder, alpine, infinity, just to name....well all of them

those are definately not all of the companies those are just all of the ones they sell at Best Buy and the most known to most of the public but they are not the best by far, you can get a lot better for the same amount of money maybe a little more, but you do want to go with a 1 channel amp and make sure that it is a class D amp (this maks sure that you can run at 1 ohm stable or lower with out the amp burning up) but a lot more goes into a system then just the amp and subs, the wireing is a big part of it exspeshally if you have dual voice coil subs because they will run at different ohms if they are ran in series compared to ran paralell. but as far as brands of subs if you want sound quality i would go with JL they are about as clean sound wise as you can get, but if you want to be heard for a mile away you should look into RE audio, Fi audio, Earthquake, Lanzar and there are some others but i cant think of them off the top of my head. as for amps look at companies like maxxsound, they are the manufacturors of Hifonics, Autotek (which is what i have) and Crunch, alos lanzar makes a bad ass series of amps called the optidrive and earthquake makes good amps too, along with planet audio, Memphis, and MB quart. but go check out this forum www.realmofexcursion.com there is a lot of info on this site and any question you have has already been answered on there, but while you're on there check out the videos section and you will see some crazy ****!

but really a lot of work goes into making sure the wiring is right and the fact that the amp and the subs match up good for what they can handle and what they can put out, and if the box is made right for the sub or subs. i have 2 Earthquake 12s in a ported box built to the specs for the subs and a Autotek SM 700watt class D amp and they hit hard enough of drop my rear view mirrow down to the windshield and to blow the back seat down if its not latched. like i have a friend that has 1 RE audio 10 Running right on RMS with a Hifonics 1206D and a box that he built exactly to the speakers specs in the back of his jeep and it drops harder than a lot of peoples 12's, 15's and possibly some 18's
