Ok so it is like 9 degrees out this morning and i had a hard time starting the car, still wont start and i hear my start is getting slower and slower so i think i just about wore it out this winter. I am wondering how hard is it to change a starter, cause my dad just had the starter in his JEEP replaced at our mechanic and it was like 300 dollars and i would prefer it only cost like 100 or less for me to do it if it isnt something that is going to take me forever to do, remember it is 9 degrees if it was the summer i would just get it and do it no worries but i gotta be fast ot get out of the cold.

i did a starter on my 84 JEEP cj 7 on the ground and in the mud in 20 minutes...the starter is right on top of the trans so its not like it is hard to get to. probly take u around 30 minutes with the diffculty of getting some of the bolts...not too hard though. good luck man

haha i agree runtingz the goal for me at least is to be in cali by the end of march, but then iwont be able to drive my lude there cause of emitions. when iw as looking at the starter i think i narrowed it down to three screws, two on top and one that has to be removed from below. can anyone confirm this or am i missing some.
