I really like the older Preludes, but I haven't been able to find one yet. I would like to get my hands on a '79 or '80 model. If I do find one, what would be a good price to pay for it?

I bought my 82 for $500..she was dirtier than a denver hooker. There were rust holes big enough to stick my arm in. BEst part is, it ran like a champ. It's been on blocks for almost 2 years, but still fires up every time. :)
Aw dammit...memories....that car was why I got my 2nd gen.
I saw another 82 a recently in prime condition with almost 100k on it for 1200. I should have sold everything I owned to buy it, but I had just bought a Shadow, and was strapped.
After having owned one, though, the bottom line is that you should buy at any price. If the car is in good shape it well be an investment that lasts years. Odds are you wont find any priced more than 1 or 2k, unless they're grandma kept, never driven beauties with minimal miles on it and such.
To most people these are just old Hondas, but to us old school luders, they're priceless gems. If you see one is reasonable shape, it will most likely have a very reasonable price tag, I would think.

I just checked around on classified sites. I found like three, but they are a fair distance to drive.

I saw one in someone's yard a few months ago. I caught it out of the corner of my eye but what I saw, that thing appeared to be in better condition that my 94. It was silver and had a tag so it was obviously driven pretty regularly. I plan to go back and ask for a price... eventualy.

If it was in good enough condition, it might have been worth it... they are classic cars now man.
As a matter of fact, when i was lookin for my 5th gen, i saw the cleanest 2nd gen I've ever seen in my life at a dealership, they wanted 8k for it and they got it. It had 10k ORIGINAL miles on it. Seriously... one of the cleanest cars (let alone preludes) I've ever seen.
