alright yall i spun a rod bearing in my motor, but the good news is that the red 4ws had a fresh motor built for it right before it was wrecked only had 3000miles on it so it was just getting broke in good, so that is going in my car now because i dont have the money to go ahead and do the H22 swap, but i will be getting a little bit better performance out the other motor, it is a B21A1 out of another 91 si 4ws, its had the crank shaved and turned (-2 lbs) new rod and main bearings, new factory pistons, same rods but thoughly checked, new oil and water pump, compleatly reworked decked and polished head (new valves, springs, retainers, guides, seals) the block has also been decked so instead of the factory 9.5:1 compression it has a little over at 10:1 comp ratio now!

nah i wasn't driving it hard when it happened, i was too busy messing with my stereo settings because of the new amp i just put in, but i have ran the hell out of it in the past, but has about the same amount of miles on it as the B21 in the red lude had when it spun the main bearing, and it spun it due the oil pump failure, so im thinking this is the same thing, the check engine light was on but it always comes on because the vss (vehicle speed sensor) is screwed on it but in the next two weeks it will be getting the fresh B21 new clutch, fresh tranny and an engine bay so clean that you'll be able to eat off of it! and while im putting it in im going to run all 4 gague ground wires and power wires to everything on it!

heres a random picture of the beast sitting in the motorcycle jack, the VTX 1800C, with the hypercharger with the K&N, vance and hines pipes, dynojet power commander 3 system, bigger injectors, 4 new iridium plugs and new wires

oh yeah i forgot to tell yall that in the midst of my motor trouble i came across another 3rd gen that i bought, for 250$, the body is in excellent shape, it's a 91 Si, no 4ws or anything but it has a clean title on it and i can use everything off of the wrecked 4ws to get her going, it's black with the tan interior and the tan interior is in alright condition but it's getting the black out of the wrecked one, but the motor has a rod knock so it's going to need a little rebuild and it's an auto but thats ok because i have everything to make her a 5 speed, so if anybody needs any 3rd gen Si tan interior pieces or some stuff for an auto tranny let me know, oh and on top of that the guy gave me another head and 2 extra valve covers and a couple fuel rails, oh and he told me that he would have gave me the header too but he gave it to somebody else and it was a Neuspeed header ah i was extremly angry and told him that i would give him 50$ if he could get it back for me, so im keeping my fingers crossed!

also b21a1 are prone for the oil seals to go out so u wer lucky that u didnt have a annoying smokin car drivin around like i did and i knew the motor was shot so i blew that beast up and then pulled the motor and put a b20a in and its way better then the b21a1

Jacob, how did you spin the bearing in the old B21a1?
Were you driving past 5k RPM?

I'm at 185,000 miles.
I know mr. knock is calling in the near future...

Im not really sure what i was doing when it actually spun, i wasn't driving it hard or anything because i had just put new subs in it so i was driving home playing with those and i pulled up to a stop light and the car shut off for some odd reason and when i cranked back up i went to leave from the stop light and got up around 3k and heard the knocking in the motor, but thats the 2nd b21a1 down the one that was in the red one at first went out at 160k miles and the one in the white one went out around 143k i haven't pulled the motor apart yet because i already had the new one but i think the motor in the red one went because the oil pump failed, and it spun a main bearing and chewed the block up...

yah, our motors are notorious for throwing connecting rods, spinning bearings.
I know sooner or later the grim reaper will come for my b21.
I'm seriously considering rebuilding the motor with oem parts. I'm sick of oil burning.

h22:well over $3000.
rebuild myself - less than $600. -perhaps
buy a brand new car - most likely

thanks Jacob, i just wanted to know how your infamous motor went to Honda heaven, lol.

no problem Brian, it kinda sucks though because i dont have a cool story to tell about it, it would be much better if i could tell every one that i was walking away from a C6 vette when she gave out!!! hahaha
