92-93 fog switch connectors are behind the left tweeter cover. just yank that sum'bish out and it should be back there.

i got no pics, cuz the fog switches were diff in 94-96's, but its pretty self-explanitory

first off sorry about the three post in a row. But i was looking in the member gal and seen that bboixtc has the fog light switch i have can anyone talk to him?

absntmnd69
01-21-2007, 10:17 AM
pm him....im looking for the same connector...i think twokexlv6coupe didnt use the factory switch. not sure about that. maybe it was hotrod but anyways. i just checked my chiltons manual and i couldnt find anything about the fog lights or the harness....probly cause they were jdm but if the harnesses are on the usdm cars then it should have them in this manual. anyways, im gonna search h-t and ill post anything that i find

absntmnd69

just get the 4 pin rc-2201 relay from honda, any automotive store or junk yard, and attach it to the socket thats already under your steering column wrapped in blue tape, hook up your oem fogs to the oem plugs, and if you have a 92-93 lude, ur socket for the switch is tucked right inside your driver side tweeter cover and if its 94-96, your switch socket is right by the radio near your shifter. then there should be 6-8 wires or so connected to the socket you connect to the switch. cut the socket off, get a electronic voltage tester thing, and see which wires are ground and hot, and basicaly you sodder the wires to the switch.
this came from bboixtc on h-t

now im gonna say sorry for the triple post but i went digging for the harness this morning and i think i found it. not sure but it looks like a long thin blue connector. i will edit in pics here in a minute
EDIT- this is the connector i found.

twokexlv6coupe
01-21-2007, 12:07 PM
i dont think thats the connector, cuz mine only had 3 wires going to it.

and yea, at first i used a generic radio shack switch, then switched it out when i found a JDM switch
lemme know if ya wanna know how to do the radio shack switch.

absntmnd69
01-21-2007, 12:39 PM
first and foremost i wanna find that damn harness...i know that u have a newer 4th gen than me and mizlude and ur harness was by the shifter. ive been searching every forum and i cant find a damn thing on what that harness looks like on the 92-93 ludes. its pissing me off

na93prepre
01-21-2007, 12:52 PM
Yea it would be nice to find so it's all plug n play. After I get the JDM fogs I'm going to be doing this. The Fog light switched for the 94+ are easier to find then the 92-93 but look on ebay. You might get lucky. I did. And yes I bought it before I had the lights. I'm just a JDM goodie freak!

absntmnd69

im not looking for a switch just yet....im looking for the harness that plugs into the switch

na93prepre
01-21-2007, 03:02 PM
I hope you find it. I would go out and start looking myself but im over 1500 miles away from my girl right now... curious did usdm ludes ever have foglights? Just curious since the wiring is supposed to be right there behind the tweeter.

absntmnd69
01-21-2007, 03:05 PM
there is no wiring that i see. if someone is willing to take pics of the harness and where it is located on the 92-93 i would really really appreciate it....**** if someone can find a pic of it i would appreciate it.

oh and what under plug under the wheel are you talking about and do you have pics? and you said that bboixtc told you have to get some other plug or something to under the wheel to plug into it ????

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/instal/aii/pages/prelude/1995/16810_01.html

what is the sub harness? the thing i asked about befor or the blue plug behind the tweeter cover?

any one have pics of the plug that pulgs into the switch?

absntmnd69
01-23-2007, 10:06 PM
i think that the blue plug that u and i found is it. the link is for a sub harness. there is a 4 pin brown connector by the cruise control unit. is under the knee plate under the steering wheel. the sub harness connects to that brown 4 pin and the relay connects into that. i dont have a pic of it yet but here are some instructions for the install of the fogs. this is for a 95 so the switch is the only difference. good luck. unless i have the wrong harness for the switch, i have all the right wires pulled out for easy access

01-24-2007, 09:05 AM
no its not blue, its a green plug, you see that fat harness towards the cluster? reach TO THE BACK, you should feel it, just grab it with your fingers and pull it out. that blue plug that you guys took out is for something else, like your twitters, i believe you just unplugged your twitters, lol

Also you guys need a relay, it goes right under the steering wheel, you should see it, its dangling. and also a fuse.

and i know cause i got the same switch and the harness was chillin in the back for about 15 years before it came out.

absntmnd69
01-24-2007, 06:11 PM
the twEEters are still connected. that blue harness was just chillin there through that hole.

If you go behind the left tweeter cover and you pull on the right side(left side of your cluster) of the dash harness there will be a bunch of red and orange wires. Pull on those. There is option tape holding it to the harness. Just yank on it and it will come up.

absntmnd69
02-22-2007, 02:19 PM

When I was installing my jdm fogs before I sold my prelude, that harness was a bitch to get. It's really far down, and its just hanging there, so if you find it it's easy to pull up, just a bitch to find. The connector is green and you can't miss it once you pull it up, Just reach down as far as you can (yes it's hard) and pull the thing up.

Thanks to darkrican for the numerous phone calls about where it was.

Ps. I drive a pos saturn now (but i don't pay insurance or car payments, so I'm saving for either an rsx-s or a prelude :)) Just a couple more months :)

ok man you know that big group of taped up wires well its behind them its a small group of red and orange wires(not the ones that are hooked to the big blue plug) and really its just chilling behind it. the best thing you can to to get to them is take one finger and rap it around the big taped up mess of wires and you'll feel it trust me and it will just pull out like dark_rican said.

Ill go take some pics with my cell phone and post them asap

after I found them I felt dumb because I didn't find them months ago lol

Ok I'm going to brag here. I just bought one of the two last brand new fog light switch in the USA and I'll have it by Friday or Sat

My only prob is I can't get the sub-harness any were

Any idea on were I could get one, or can i just make one some how?

twokexlv6coupe
04-03-2007, 01:43 PM
i guess which relay you use depends on whether or not you need the subharness, b/c like i told you via PM, i didn't need a subharness and i used a relay that came with some PIAA fogs that my bro gave me

before worrying about getting/finding a subharness, first see if your relay will plug directly into the brown plug under the dash
