Seems like you had a lot more options to choose from in Canada.

Thanks for clearing that up all of you up in canada. Now I know what to look for. I will try to stick with the SE's then, but only in a manual(really like leather). Keep your eyes posted for any good deals on crystal blue metallic manual se's with under 90k miles(145k km). Thanks!

Wanted EBP first, but then went to CBM because I didn't want dirt showing in the winter(have black car right now).

I do, but I am willing to travel to get the right car. Use to want an SH until found out the diferences between it and base.

Ok, gotcha. CBM was only available in '99 and '00, not sure about Canada.

Bases are too hard to come by here in the Us with low miles and no mods. I may pay more in canada, but I will usually find them with no mods. I saw one base CBM stick somewhere in the US with less than 70k for under $11k about 2 weeks ago on craiglist, but cannot find it anymore.
I have seen it on a couple of 01s in canada, but mostly 99-00s. Also available on 97-98, but I want the extra 5 stock Hp.
Really hoping to find unmodded CBM stick with less than 90k for under $12 with the factory bodykit(w/spoiler) and foglights. Leather is optional(CAN has heated seats). If I have leather, must have heated seats, otherwise too cold. Want foglights cause I will switch in JDM ones, should be same plug and everything.

Indeed, it's getting harder and harder to find clean, low mile ludes. I think I got in at the right time, 2 years ago.
97-98 Ludes came in Nordic Mist Metallic which is very similar to CBM. CBM is a little darker, has a tad of titanium grey mixed in. Nordic Mist given the correct light can look exactly like CBM, it's kinda like a magic color.
Alot of people will tell you that the 5 extra hp was all just for marketing purposes...but...I dunno.

Not sure, have heard that before though. All ludes in japan came with 195 or 200, but type s got 220. Larger T.B. and different intake(dynamic chamber).

12-05-2006, 11:24 PM
Yeah, the Type S had the different intake, diff. cams (more lift & duration), larger pistons for a higher Compression Ratio

very true. If you want a a larger power gain, then you got to do the cams.

did your lude have the usdm foglights? If so did you just wswitch the holders, or did you have to rewire?
edge2lyfe
12-05-2006, 11:31 PM
My car came with no fogs. I bought the JDM fog kit and instead of using the JDM switch and bought the USDM cluster and switch. Everything else remained JDM (wiring, harnesses, etc.) A plug on the JDM harness needed to be trimmed a little so that it would insert into the back of the USDM switch.

Anytime, and if you ever find your lude let me know, I have a good write up for doing the foglight switch conversion. Good luck.

I know, that is why I am looking into canadian spec preludes more often now. Although jesseunvoas claimed that one day his heated mirrors stopped working...

Lol....I was referring to Jesseunvoas post but it appears to have been deleted...hmmm. He responded to your comment about the heated mirrors saying that the car hit a brick wall and messed up the mirrors...

What sort of things are you finding out? I found a base model CBM nearby (13 miles) with nearly 33k miles for under $13k. Really hoping to get that one. Gosh, I hope that fargin lawyer would get off his fargin ice and cash out that trust fund so I can get that car! I really want less than 50K miles on my CBM lude stick! Please hurry! If you see any CBM SE's with a stick, htd lthr, and htd mrrs, please PM me!

Change of plans fellow luders. I no longer want to get a CBM bb6 prelude. I now want to get the dark green bb6 prelude from 1999-2000. This color is often referred to as Deep Eucalyptus Metallic or Ficus Green Pearl. I believe that FGP is from the 1997-1998 years though. I test drove the CBM bb6 stick nearby, and I hated it! The Color was not what I was hoping it was. I need more of a blueish/purpleish tint, but I don't want the 1997-1998. Now I am looking for EGP 1999-2000, and I am willing to get an SH since the color is so much more rare. I f you know of any, PM me please!

I take back wanting the SH, I do not want a spoiler. Only way I will take one with spoiler is if it has less than 50K miles and is priced below $10K, otherwise no spoiler.

Just out on a limb, but how easy is it to import a genuine JDM Type S or SiR Spec S? If it's not too hard, you may even find you save a few $$$. Just an idea, please don't kill me...

Eucalyputs green pearl is 97-98 Ludes, they have the tan interior.
Ficus green metallic is 99-00 and they have black interior. Both are nice colors, I never see the Ficus green Ludes around (although I did test drive one)..so I would say they are the most rare.

It is not too hard, just too costly. I have looked for JDM Type S BB6s and SiRs, but have had rare luck. The only one I really liked was a silver type s with the red interior and navigation, but they were asking $20k for that one, plus export costs. It had 61k miles on it. Not to mention, the costs of getting it through customs.

I like the tan interior, but it has to be solid tan, no black. So instead i will take the 99-00 Ficus green metallic. You are completely correct, the dark greens are the hardest too come by. Even harder to come by than the Honda signature supersonic blue pearl(only offered in 2001).

Update, my lude will probibly be here around the beginning of March. I am still going for the green, but am warming back up to the silver(must be perfect). I could also drive a yellow one. If anyone sees a STOCK yellow 5 speed manual for sale PM me. Yellow was offered by Honda, but I have only seen it on automatics.

I have yet to see a yellow 5th gen in the US. Have you actually seen one?
I know they made yellow for the Motegi edition ludes but that was in the UK.

Also available in the Japan, but never heard of them outside of those markets.

I have seen an actual yellow 5th gen. It was a stock factory yellow. It is the same yellow that the NSX came in. The color is so rare, because it was only able to be put on employee cars. If you do not work for honda, then you cannot get the yellow.

Hey everyone, I NEED YOUR HELP! I am still trying to find a prelude, but the one that I wanted I just found out has a salvage title(flood). I have now ruled that one out for good( I want no accidents, or anything). I am now being forced to open back up to other colors other than green. If anyone knows of anyone with a green,STOCK,base, manual prelude with under hopefully 60,000 miles, Please PM me. Otherwise I am open to silver or blue. I am looking for years 1999-2001 only; no 1997-1998. Also, I am looking for a lude with no spoiler(if available). Reminder NO TYPE SH. I just want the base level.
