me thinks the intercooler is... WAYYYYYYYYYYY too big. in order to run it, i would hafta completely remove the bumper support, which would be good for weight savings, but sucky for handling. so i'm lookin for an IC which is about 6" tall, instead of 12".
and i ordered my log style manifold earlier this week, as well as my chipped p06 with crome, and sending the turbo out tomorrow to get rebuiilt
phew. can't believe i'm doing this

Wooot! I know what you mean about it being surreal. You buy the parts after waiting for so long, and then you get to installing it and it's like.. wow.. I've been dreaming about this and now its actually happening.. just wait until you install it. lol
+1 on the IC. Just sell it and buy another SSAC. IC doesn't matter much.
Lotsa cars.. I see an MX-5, C5, Lude, Accord, 3.2TL, and TL.

nice project you got going on there bro. I notice you have JDM Fogs. Do you have a real JDM bumper or did you just cut the USDM one to fit the Fogs? Also When I did my JDM front end I got a JDM reinforcement bumper bracket with the bumper and lights. It's so darn skinny. Weighs 25lbs less then the USDM one. Just telling you b/c not only will it save you weight you might beable to fit that intercooler in there.

theres no difference between JDM and USDM bumpers, only the bumper supports like you said, and the JDM one is MADDDDD skinny like you said. unless your thinkin of the MUGEN bumper, which i obviously dont have.
i dont have the JDM fogs anymore, cuz they woulda been in the way of the IC piping :frown:
fortunatly i dont have that huge 12" tall IC like the one pictured, i got a much more reasonable 6"'er which is much more bumper-friendly
na93prepre
01-10-2007, 08:21 PM
hmmm so the bumpers are the same? kinda upsets me i spent so much money b/c its "JDM YO" Well w/e I guess. So how did you fit in the JDM fogs? I want to get some Yellow one and install them.
Also I know there clear and yellow fogs. I'm guessing the Yellow one cost more in Japan b/c there more exspensive then the clears on Ebay? If not was it just a personal choice over there on which fogs they wanted? Or did the Yellow ones come with a certain trim and the clears the same thing? Just trying to learn more about them.
Thanks for telling me about the bumpers. Let me know about the install
thanks Bro
twokexlv6coupe
01-10-2007, 08:31 PM
the install consisted of: taking bumper off, cutting 2 square inches of plastic off each side, then screwing and plugging fog lights in.
i originally had the clear ones, then found someone wanting to trade their yellow's FOR clears, so i got the yellows
all yellow fogs are JDM, and mostly all clear fogs are USDM, but there are also clear JDM's

o cool. i thought all fogs were jdm and usdm's didnt come with fogs. good to know. you dont have pictures of your instal do you? Just to give me a ideal where to cut? Also do you have those yellow fogs anymore? And also (haha) where did you hook your fogs into? like since I got the JDM stanely bumper lights and I know you know too then one of your usdm lights (the parking ones) go in to the one light that accepts it and the since the one light (blinker) is a dumby it gets route up to the fender blinker. So how do you properly do the fogs?
I know i might sound confusing. Sorry if I do. Thanks for all the info sofar bro. I'm glad I learned that. It's good to get corrected :0) Then you dont sound like a idiot out there in front of the other JDM enthusists

Another thing. If I buy a brand new oem bumper since there dirt cheap (my jdm one is kinda badly scuffed up), and follow the directions to that link you sent me for the fogs it will have the area where i can screw in the fog lights after i cut some of the plastic away?
twokexlv6coupe
01-12-2007, 05:39 PM
it took 'bout an hour.
my yellow fogs are for sale, along with the relay and the 94-96 switch, but you got a 93 so that dont help.
and yes.
na93prepre
01-12-2007, 09:00 PM
IS the relay the same for the fogs nomatter what year. If Id just get your Yellow fogs (if we would talk about that) and maybe get a different fog light switch then i'd be good? IS that the only problem? If there's more to it what would I have to buy in order to use the Yellow fogs?
I'm interested in yours :)
Thanks
twokexlv6coupe
01-13-2007, 04:06 PM
yes, the relay's for all the JDM fogs are the same, cuz i'm actually using the relay that i got with the free set of PIAA fogs, and it works perfectly.
so the ONLY things you need are: fogs, relay, and switch.
as for the switch, you COULD do what i did before i got the real JDM switch.
-buy a generic switch from radio shack that has 3 prongs
-find the switch connector behind your tweeter cover, and cut it off so you have the 3 wires exposed.
-hook all 3 wires up to the 3 diff prongs (took some time, but eventually got it)
-after you figure out which wire goes to which prong, throw the switch back behind the tweeter cover, put the cover back on, and forget about it.
the ONLY problem with this is you cant turn the fogs on and off by yourself, they're only controlled with the headlights. but i could never think of an instance where i DIDNT drive with the fogs.
na93prepre
01-13-2007, 04:56 PM
kinda confused with the wiring you spoke of behind the tweeter cover. haha i know theres a tweeter cover with the jdm foglight switch built in so if i get that i won't have to lay it back there ? B/c I'm guessing your saying I have to lay it back there if i don't get or have that cover with the switch built in right?
twokexlv6coupe
01-13-2007, 05:48 PM
exactly, yea. if you do happen to have the JDM fog switch, then you can completely disregaurd my instructions
na93prepre
01-13-2007, 08:25 PM
would the wiring still be there then for the switch behind the tweeter cover even tho for us it would be on the left side?

the first charge piping. it LOOKS like it fits, but its really laying on top of the wastegate, plus its sitting about 4 inches too high for the hood to close
so i'm gonna run it like you see pictured in black by cutting off the 2 90 degree bends and welding a foot of straight section. SHOULD fit no prob

so i'm doing my front brakes right now: brembo blanks and ebc pads.
the holes for the lug nuts on the brembos are fine, but the holes where the 2 phillips head screws that hold the rotor to the hub dont line up at all!!
how vital is it to have/not have these screws in? cuz once the wheel goes on, the rotor isn't going ANYWHERE!! which is how my bro's vette is - no screws holding the rotor to the hub
ogsmakdade
03-11-2007, 08:40 PM
I don't know about this. My rotors were pressed on as far as I know. I don't think I'd take the chance not having the screws in.
twokexlv6coupe
03-12-2007, 12:55 AM

rheakpl
03-12-2007, 07:27 AM
not vital at all technically..added security for screwing to hub...if the rim is on the lugs hold it all together fine...id prefer to screw it onto the hub but i dont think id go through thte trouble of returning etc just to get it...
lots of people dont even put them on cause they rust out...like mine did haha...and youd have to like torch them out..
so id say keep them unless they are somehow fake and thats why they dont fit?

sideblaaster manifold similar to this http://blaastperformance.com/image/customerpicts/prelude-gen5/blaastproject6.jpg
There's a waiting list so they should start making mine very soon. I originally had the turboxs manifold but requires a smaller radiator and I didn't want to go that route, so I went with blaast. Then last week my radiator shattered and I had to order a new one. Just my luck...
