New exhaust

hey yall i just got my exhaust done on my car, 2 1/2" pipe from the flex pipe (no cat.) to a stailess titanium muffler. It's loud but it has a deeper tone to it. It helped out alot on bottom end torque and throttle response, now i gotta see if i can get my buddy to make me a header that i can bolt up to my stock elbow pipe, if not i'll be ordering the chicara torque step header next week. Ill post pics when i get back home later today!

it was finished yesterday at 4:30 so i had to go straight to work till 9 and today Im in classes till 1:30 so ill get some pics up on here atleast by 3 or 4, ill try and set up video or soundclip too.

Thats cool dude, i just ordered the chikara headers for my car, i already got the magna high flow cat and magna flow exhaust muffler, i hope it sounds killer ha.

what size piping are you gonna run? i think im gonna change my muffler out because the one i have on there now sounds good but it's loud as crap because of i dont have a cat. so im thinking about putting a magnaflow or dynomax muffler on the end to quiet it down a little more so i dont have to shift my car a 2 grand everytime im next to a cop!

What kind of muffler you guys recommend. My friend's bro just bought a 90 si and it needs a new muffler, I mean a full system.

I had many exhaust system setups on my Prelude.

Current setup:
Custom 2 inch piping, CatCo Catalytic Converter, resonator and Magnaflow Turbo XL muffler.
It sounds nice, not overbearing or LOUD. It sounds perfect IMO.

Now, my old setup, i had a straight pipe setup. LOUD. Obnoxious. SMELLY.
My other setup, i had a cat and resonator with a Magnaflow performance, dual tipped muffler. LOUD....CRAZY LOUD.

What i suggest you do 91si4ws, is get yourself a Catalytic converter. Running your exhaust system without one, your car will sound stoopid LOUD. That is your problem right there. Get yourself a universal Cat & a resonator. Help save the Earth. Running a car without a Cat, you are contributing to the "phenomenon" known as ACID RAIN.

The next time a cop is rolling around you, drop it into Neutral and coast until he's gone. :yo:

nah im gonna leave it how it is, no cat with the 2.5 piping, i might put a resonator somewhere in there and change out mufflers but thats about it.

there's no emissions checks here or anything so the only thing i have to worry about cops is noise ordinance or something like that but i have to do the same thing with the stereo, i can get a ticket for not having a cat but i dont think a cop is going to get his ass dwon on the ground and look under my car!

No emissions in Ohio either. Also do not have the noice ordinance crap. feel for you guys. He just needs a nice soundin' exhaust system for around $300-$500 with installation.

well i bought the muffler and took it to my buddys muffler shop and he charged me 150 to bend weld and hang the 2.5 in piping, from the flexpipe back. so all in all i have about 230 in it how it is now

That's cheap, I don't think he wants it that loud though. Might want cat.

haha yeah, most muffler shops wont take out the cat, because that is illeagal, (Prelude13 told me earlier to help save the earth haha) but yeah i would tell him to go around to different muffler shops in the area and tell them that he wants a cat back exhaust done on his car, and tell them the size pipe he wants, but make sure that he asks what the price is without them getting the muffler, he can save some $$$ if he just buys the muffler that he wants and tells them to use that.
