im in the market for springs. i type it into ebay for my 4th gen and i see really cheap coilovers for like 30 bux after shipping. is there a difference between springs and coilovers? is there a brand out there i should look out for or trust??

springs are springs. nothing else. if you're getting lowering springs, your stock shocks will wear out faster. it's best you get lowering springs and aftermarket shocks designed to handle a lowered car together.

coilovers are entire assemblies where the spring and the shock are one unit. they typically have adjustable spring seats so you can adjust your ride height. some will allow you to adjust your damper.

what all this means to you. there is no way you can get a good set of coilovers for $30. even a good set of coilover sleeves are in the $300s. tein is top of the line... they run around $1000. another good brand is d2... slightly cheaper.

$80 used. i think they run $130'ish brand new.

but with a 2"-2.25" drop, you almost NEED new shocks also, which are 250-400 ish.

i got my KYB AGX's with the neuspeed sports (1.7 inches) just to be safe.
