THE ONE

Hey what's up guys and gals?
I just thought I'll make a few things clear about this engine.
Let me start off by saying YES it does exist. The bore is a little bigger than the regular h22. It revs to 7200RPMS. Not 8000rpms as some online ventors are qouting. It has bigger a slightly bigger cam than the h22 type s and euro R h22 but the throttle body is a little smaller for more low end torque.
As far as hp goes. That is still questionable. I've seen on some web sites where they rate it 230 hp. If we look at this logically we can draw the conclusion that reading is inaccurate. Why? For one it redlines too low to make that much power. The h22 type s' head comes out the factory with a port and polish job and it only makes 220hp.
I've also seen 197hp and 220hp. The 197hp seems a little more accurate but I think that's a little on the low side. becuase this engine revs to 7200rpms and a regular h22 hits max power at ~7200rpms I would suppose the power of the h23 vtec is around the 212-220 range. The motor has 11:1 compression pistons. I'm quiet certain that it hits max power before the type s and the euro r cause those rev 8000rpms.
How do I come to these hypothesis is because I actually looked at a honda accord SIR front clip of this engine today. Also from reading (translating) information from japanesse and European sites. The motor does exist. I suspect that this will start to be a more common swap as the motors become more readily available. I'm sure some of you remember the white 98 accord that use to be in my siginature. Well that accord is getting that entire front clip. That car should be a beast:tup: .
Thanks for reading. Just wanted you guys on here to know what's up with this engine.
