I have a 99 honda prelude base model and my engine is blue? I didnt think anything of it until I saw under the hood of some other 5th gen preludes and found that the engines were all red???? The other preludes were both 99 base preludes. What do the different coloured engines mean? They should all be the same colour right?

You mean your valve cover is blue, right? It's just painted blue, doesn't mean anything.

can u post some pics? sounds like someone painted it or bought the SIR valve cover. I doubt you have an f20b in there....does it have the "H22A(1-4)" stamp on the motor? it should say it a little to the left of the header on the front of the motor. there is a little squared off area that has the motor type engraved.

Wow this is awesome. my dad is a drifter, I never see him in person but he pops up in random photos from time to time. If you see him again tell him I want my shorts back.

I found the stamp and it says that it is an H22A4. Since everyone wants some pictures I will take some when I get home tonight and post them.

Just kidding oh thats sick, have you tried to pressure wash the side of the engine? it might come off. But thats a H22A4 stamp I see there its a painted VC just like mine but mines more of a smurf blue :redface:
But I have been told it looks good plus ljcandmwd wants to swap hers for mine, I guess cause she has the blue scheme going on too. I guess you can see mine in the sig I think I have a better bigger pic hang on.

Thats okay, mine is not sponsored at all I just learn from the site and keep it clean. Your VC looks pretty good I'd say one day I forgot did yours have an aftermarket header on there if not get you one and while you have the header off tape off the other parts i.e. VC, distributor, anything you don't want painted aluminum then paint that sucker with aluminum paint to cover the blue paint up.
The wheels in that pic of Tenzo Rs 18" on stock height, felt like driving a 4X4 :scared1:
But I did learn a lesson from it..
That 18" wheels IMO are too big.

Really 18" is to big? I think that they look perfect, but I dont know how well they ride. Yeah my goal with this car is to keep it clean looking, nothing to extreme. After all that is why I bought a prelude, because they have a one in a kind look. The first thing that I do want is rims. Im just not sure what size to go with 17" or 18"???? And tint my windows limo black. My headers are stock. For now

I say 17". 18's are just way too big. Some cars big wheels look better but IMO, it just looks ridiculous on a 5th gen. 18's on a 5th gen are like wearing shoes 2 sizes too big; looks goofy and are a pain to walk in.

18's are okay looking with the right drop only about 1.5" or less, going any lower then your looking at camber kits, (did I spell that right?)

Yeah my plan is to one day lower it by 1.5". I just dont want a gap in the wheel well. My stock rims are toast from years of winter abuse so I need new rims anyways. Is there really a noticable difference between 16" and 17"
