i got a 2001 prelude, i was forced to choose the auto, even though i wanted a 5speed, but its so hard to find a 5speed electron blue lude in good condition, but i have made peace with that cus i love the look of the car, the only thing that really get under my skin is the traction control, i hate that i cant turn it off, it really hinders my acceleration, i want to know is there any way to turn it off, or disable it,

I'm pretty sure your car doesn't have traction control. 1st gear in the auto is just fairly tall and isn't the best for accelerating

Your EDM correct? If it is not JDM or EDM then it doesn't have TC.
my guess if you wanted to turn it off you could pull the fuse but that might also take some other things out with it.

i think he's from cali as well, and i've never heard of ANY preludes, 4ths, 5ths, usdm, jdm, edm, of having traction control.
i'm intrigued as to what you're calling "traction control"

The only Prelude I've ever heard of having traction control is the JDM TCV third gens, and even then it was only an option.

if its not traction control than what is it i have driven alot of hondas this my third, all fwd drive and all automatic, ive had a 90 acura legend 93 civic dx and 92 accord dx coupe, when i lauch off the light something cuts my power preventing me from breaking traction, i tried and brake stand by pulling the handbrake once, and it didnt work i mean my accord could hold a burnout easily with the f22, but am i to believe that the h22 doesnt have enough power to do it, i still have the accord and the accord will take the lude of the line anyday i know, so what is it, help me

It id the tourque converter tring to keep up with the engine, causing it to "bog down". Might want to try changing the tran fluid.

The first gear on the H22 automatic is taller than most professional basketball players. That's what is stopping you from doing burnouts. If you continue to try, the trans will crap out on you, your car's way of telling you you're treating it badly.
If you want to do burnouts, a Prelude is not a good choice of car. Get a mustang, camaro or one of them turbo nissan pieces of crap.

traction control is located is only on the MR versions...it uses the ACD function
it only came on the SE preludes....with an aluminum roof and blacked out tail lights.
i totatlly just bull****ed on this but traction control on the lude? why? if anything we dont need tc unless we hit vtec the minute we step on the gas =D
unless your boosted...thats a totally different story..
*cough nick/bustr*
Sounds like you should have waited even longer to find your Electron Blue 5th Gen 5spd.
Sounds like your about to eat your tranny.

Yeah dude, automatic Prelude trannies are notoriously weak. You should do a manual swap as soon as you can, it will be much more enjoyable trust me. And quit trying to do burnouts and **** like that, it's not good on a fwd car.
am i to believe that the h22 doesnt have enough power to do it

there is no traction control. the autos have a 4 speed tranny so the gears are really tall
