put it this way. this is my 3rd car that i've done this on and i travel all over suffolk, nassau, and nyc. i've never been stopped for it. i've even been pulled over and given plenty of other tickets but never anything for my taillights.

Although I love the look of amber on preludes for some reason. The bumper lights just make the car sexy!

There's a first time for everything.
Honestly, I can't find the correct amber bulbs ANYWHERE around here. I guess to cut down on clear turn signals and make people keep the amber in them or something. Hell, I can't even find amber wedges for the sidemarkers.

Doing this mod right now.
I'm using Ultra Black instead. The only problem is, it takes forever to drop but it's been clogging spoiler holes for months now so I know it's good water proof stuff. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow.

Your method of tail light mod is way easier than the way I attempted and failed. Looks mad cool, especially compared right next to my dad's which still has the amber.
thanks brother. go post this in the thread so people know to use my method. lol.
you should post up some pics of your lude next to your dads for a comparison.
btw... what was your method?

I attempted the method I used on my 4th gen and it failed to say the least.
I'll get pics this weekend and compare the two side by side for yawl.

eBay... or www.superbrightleds.com and make sure to get a resistor or it blinks really fast and is really annoying.

Yeah, I don't think that would be something that you would get pulled over for, but I think it's something that would be tacked on to a ticket. Along with illegal side markers ( not that I have those...)
Si Speed

They are DOT stamped so unless the cop has the tools to take the tail light out, he won't know. Just say your amber bulb blew and it's just a temporary replacement.

illegal side markers??????
are you implying that mine are my friend? LOL
they are DOT stamped as well. they are off 05-06 S2000 so it looks OE to a pigpo.
