Ok so I have been rebuilding after my breaking of a rod and yesterday when trying to get the timing right I popped the spring on the auto tensioner... Sooo... I had to make an unplanned trip to Honda at 8:15am today... I got the part ( i would have done the manual conversion but I didnt have time to wait for the shipping) and put it on... Fired up the first time i tried starting it... I then drove it half way around the block and guess what happend... the timming belt broke... so i had to make a 70 mile round trip to an autoparts warehouse to pick one up... I got home and put it on... and it started... I drove to take my wife to work and it ran like crap and was runnin pretty hot in the mid to high rpms... no power at all either!!! so I brought it home and pulled the timming cover off.. again.. and the timming was one tooth off on the crank so I took everything apart and put it back together... again... and i think it works better... I have to pick my wife up so I will see if it works better and let you all know...

My old lude honda put a timing belt on it and it was no joke 90 degrees off and it still ran till about 5 grand then it popped and sputter until about red line (it was the only good thing about an h23 because I fixed it and it ran until it was stolen and fliped)

that is what saved my h23a1 when I lost the timing belt...
