Painting Your "H" Emblem

Can anyone tell me the best way to paint my "H"s gloss black Im blacking out my '01 lude and am taking off the PRELUDE and I want the H's to match the black body. Any suggestions on how to do this on my Own?

I've seen it done and it can look great, but if not done properly it looks crap.

Take them off, rub them back with a scourer (like the one you wash the plates and forks with) to take the shine off, then paint them and reinstall.

Yeah I was planning on that and a little wet sanding but I didnt know what paint to use and whether to use a clear coat or not. and also how do you get the H's off? I know theres somekind of screw.

Wet sanding isnt needed just sand it down fully with some red scotch brite, clean it, then paint it.

Just carefully pry it off. There's just glue holding it on, and 2 prongs to line it up. No clips or screws.

Just a note: that won't totally take the emblem off. It's perfect for getting the 3M tape off the back of the emblem, but you still gotta unsnap it from the hood.
