View Full Version : DIY- clean up black lips/sideskirts

i did this awhile ago, after I got primer overspray on my sideskirts:mad:...

i took off the sideskirts, cleaned em with soap and water, sanded em with 400 grit, got the dust out with a tack rag, and spray a few coats of window trim paint that I bought from the auto parts store

i did my front lip as well and it worked really well. sorry I dont have high quality pics of the final product, but you can see the lip and the sideskirt in this pic

i think i already did one of these with removal, but it was for the 5th gen,
see you used trim paint, never seen that myself but i DID use plastic paint, so now we can say that trim paint OR and plastic adhering paint should work

yeah I chose the window trim paint mainly because of the color, it comes out looking just like it did from the factory, not just gloss, satin, or flat black...and it adhered to the plastic really well
