Hey 'luders.
I need an alarm system for my 3rd gen... does anyone have recommendations?
I'm asking for keyless entry and remote start (maybe)
viper. but they are the more expensive i think. i have an autopage and i love it. its got a remote start keyless entry with some other little features. its the autopage RS-850. i got it for cheap because i know people. im not sure how much it goes for under normal circumstances.

X2 on the viper... my dad got it bought and installed for around $150. I have a Viper system in the Lude but the stupid idiot who owned it before me lost the remote so the sistem aint even hooked to the battery now because I don't feel like manually setting it every time.

haha i bought one of those little 40$ alarms from autozone for my car, but im actually kinda impressed with it, i set the sensativity on it to the lowest setting and i sprayed the water hose on it and it went off! but it works off of voltage too so when the door is opened and the dome light comes on it goes off! the only down fall is that it doesnt have the keyless entry but i rarely lock my car so dont really need it!

Scosche!!!!!! www.scosche.com
2 way alarm pages you when something goes wrong at your vehicle. Insane 3000 ft range that verifies doors locked or unlocked on your key fob.
Remote start with a must have safety feature for manual trannys. Eliminates accidently leaving your car in gear and having your car jump all over the place hitting stuff! Highly recommended!!

go with anything dei
viper python hornet. ect
circuit city or best buy carry them and they have the most technical support out there
the newest ones and a mile range along with 2-way paging.
but those are kinda expensive
i can get you one cheaper and ship it to you but you would need to find someone to install it
if you're in cincy or close i can do i but i doubt you are

I guess it depends on the area you live in man. I have a Clifford alarm but jerks always manage to at least get into the car and make a shyt storm out of my steering colum.
I plan on getting a good one just because of that.
Thanks for the Link Playlude

Viper. I think they got this feature of an anti-code grabbing or encryption. So every time you hit your arm button, nobody with the right technology can get you frequency.
Not having a steering wheel also helps deter theft. No joke.

just check the steering wheel in with your coat at the clubs. the ****ty part is getting it back from the coat check girl when your drunk.:alcoholic:

I have a viper alarm w/ pager, remote start and all that stuff. It's great but I think it retails for over $600. A friend of mine works at an audio visual place so of course I only paid half that.

why have an alarm if you don't lock your doors...I have a bunch of haterz round my way and some ppl that steal and gut out cars...cops could never know who...I'm not too worried about an alarm bcuz I have full coverage but it would be nice to know who is messin with ur whip
I actually work at a car alarm shop.
Viper
Autopage
and Code Alarm
Thats what i recommand.
Viper and Code alarm is the exactly the same. They are both made by Directed and they both do the same features.
Autopage is another company but its a dawm good alarm also.

i didn't say that i didn't lock my doors, i do on occasions, but not very often, i hardly ever do when it's in my yard, but i have a couple other little safety things, like a fule pump switch so if they do get in it and get it cranked it will run for like 2 seconds then shut off without the switch turned on and plus my car is so loud and i park it right by the house so if it's cranked i'll hear it even if i'm sleeping! then instead of leaving the wheel straight when i get out i turn it all the way to one side and when i take the key out i make sure that it locks so if somebody wants to push it, it will only roll in circles and i live pretty far off the road, but when im out somewhere in town i hardly lock the doors because i would rather somebody open the door and the alarm go off then them breaking out my window or scratching up my car trying to get into it, and on top of all that im pretty good at hiding stuff so it would take somebody a while to find the alarm and the wires to it, and the way my alarm works if you disconnect the battery then hook it back up the alarm automatically sets it's self

really though if yall don't want yalls cars to be stolen i would say put in a fule pump switch and don't tell anyone where it is, i have mine hidden really good but i can still get to it pretty easy from the drivers seat, it's about the cheapest most effective way to keep your **** from getting jacked!

My dad told me about the fuel cutoff also and it would be a good addition to an alarm, the only thing you need to do is hide it really well, because thieves prob know about this mod too and they can look for it if the car stalls, it's just a matter of whether they can find it.

if you live in a bad area where you can't sleep afraid it will get stolen then it's worth removing the plug wire that goes to the coil and the car won't start, they will have to tow it if they want to steal the car and removable steering will it's also a plus.
