I was wondering on the carb'd ludes the intake splits about 4 inches after it comes out of the carb I was wondering if I could just take the extra peice off of the intake the peice that runs it to behind the light and run it like a short ram intake? will it hurt anything?

Heres the piece that I took off to make the "short ram" in a way
So let me know if this will work fine or just stick to stock.

Oh, nah it won't hurt anything, but it won't help none either (I don't think anyways). You may as well drive without it! I do on occasions.
This is what the lot of us do. . .

I came up with an idea to have two intake hoses going to a modified airbox. But it looks a bit hard to achieve. . .

85 I don't get at all what you did with yours lol and what about the wires conected to the intake? and I figured that it would get air to the motor faster resulting in better low end power and throttle response such as a short ram. but I guess not lol

that's known as the "airbox mod". people will cut the box so its open all around except the top.
i used cardboard... haha
there's only one hose you need to plug.

I did something like this on my old accord. I just cut it off from where it connects to the box and slapped a K&N on there. Me and my friends called it the ghetto intake.

apparently it feels less restricted. i think it's true. however the downside is that you get more hot air... it's worth a try though!

Some guy off a different forum did something similar on a 3rd gen. He ended up slapping the original box back on because of the hot air going in and it had a weaker pull.
