two tone paint jobs

i wanted to change the color of my car. i need input on the color. i have a 2001 silver prelude base and i wanted to do a two tone.i think it should be cheaper if i keep the silver. i love the sunset orange from the 350z. or the gm Steel Gray Metallic. or gun metal gray.

How wear you thinking of doing it split it down the side on the body line like jay's and wear would the silver be top or the bottom? out of the 3 i would have to say the sunset b/c the other would just look to close to the sliver in color.

as a fellow 5th gen owner i have actually been thinking the same thing. i def think you should do something different. go with something unique... the sunset would look hott. you should post up a pic of your lude from the side on the "chops" page and see if they can work up an image of the two tone with the sunset and silver. as for me i am thinkin the same but i have no idea what color i'm gonna go with. i might go with this 69 Camaro Bluish Purple. who the hell knows. good luck makin your decision man. let us know what you decide or keep it a secret and just post up some pics once it's finished.

Is that 2 toned white? Or is the spoiler painted black along with the hood? Im not seeing much 2 tone PAINT going on.

Well, the hood, roof, A and C pillars are painted black, the rest is white. And to be honest, if I were doing that, I'd do it with vinyl, so that if I decided it looked crap I could always take it off later. But you get the point

Im with you on the that Colin that looks awesome. I was concidering a carbon hood with the lines down the side painted red to match, carbon trunk and painting the roof a heavy metal flake charcoal gray. Similar style to that but decided against doing it on a red car. I wish mine was white....

I would go with a color that is similar to the silver, the silver and orange would just clash and stick out like a sore thumb. However gun metal or gray would be two tone not two color.

I prefer a 3 stage paint job, like candy's and perals. Go with the sunset orange!!!!!!:You_Rock_Emoticon:

IMO 2 tone looks good when the colors split at the right spot....like the car in Colins pic. find a color palet or w/e and pick 2 colors that go together that you like.
