If something seems a little different about the site, you're right! Some subtle changes have been made.
First, the biggest change anybody will noticed is there is no more street racing section. Some of you are probably upset about it, but by having it, it sets a bad example for the little ones, not to mention supports the stereotype of all Honda drivers being ricers. It's also illegal, irresponsible, and dangerous. I also found it hypocritical that it said that we didn't condone street racing, yet had a section dedicated to it. Problem solved. From now on, no more street racing here. Any threads that pop up that involve this juvenile act will result in 2 infraction points. Second offense will be a temporary ban, third offense will be permanent. These penalties are subject to change at the moderator's discretion and/or the violating member's attitude. The point of this is to lead by example. The track section will remain so if you have a heavy foot, do it on the track and then come tell us how you ran a 15.4 in your stock 5th gen and the stock hatch beside you stalled out at the start.
For the donors, the VIP section has been deleted. Not sure why it was ever there but it was extremely inactive and you guys aren't likely to miss it. There is a chance that you guys will get your names turned back normal but keep the donor icon and everything else you got for being a donor. If anyone seriously opposes that, then we can talk but otherwise, the yellow doesn't even match the site. We'll also b getting a new donating system up soon so anybody can donate however much their little heart feels. When this happens, anybody who donates $10+ will receive two PZ stickers from me. Neon will decide when this goes into effect though.
I saw several grammar errors in the descriptions of the different forums, so all those have been updated. I also noticed that the Site News' description still had "PT" in it. Most of you don't even know this used to be called preludetech. That's what that was about.
From now on, when you post a vehicle for sale, there is a new template to follow. It's fairly simple and is stickied in the "Vehicles for Sale" section. Failure to follow will result in a verbal warning to fix it. If it's not done promptly, the thread will be deleted.
All of you are aware of the 50 post rule to start a thread in the Classified section. Because of some of the whoring problems we've had to hit that illustrious 50 post mark, in order to benefit all you faithful members, the classified section isn't even visible until 50 posts are reached, then they can do everything you can. I'm aware someone will post a sale thread randomly anyway and we will continue to delete, warn, and ban as seen fit. My advice is to just ignore them and especially don't buy from them. They will be handled, usually within a matter of minutes, as long as Nick or myself is online. At the very worst, it'll take a couple of hours for a mod to sign on and take notice but you can just ignore it and go on, we'll take care of ya.
I also renamed "Racer's Edge" to "The Pit" so that there's no confusion about street racing there, as I hope none of you are stupid enough to be racing a Prelude on any other surface. I also broadened "The Strip" to involve all kinds of controlled environment racing. I'm aware that name may sound kind of dull but it's 2:00 AM. Gimme a break. If you have anything better, post it. I'll rep you if we use it.
User titles have been slightly altered. The new rankings go as follows:
Rank/Post Count
n00b 0
Junior Member 50
Bronze Member 100
Silver Member 250
Gold Member 500
Platinum Member 1000
Grand Member 3000
Supreme Member 5000
Registered members can now see who gave them reputation and see any comments left. Not sure why it wasn't like that the whole time but just click "My Profile" and it's on the right.
Now, to future changes.
Because some people can't read, we are going to alter Ride of the Month starting in August. There is going to be a whole new forum dedicated to ROTM nominating and voting. The current rules will still apply, but there will be a few added. The threads will remain in that section and simply be closed when they are no longer used, that way you all can reference back to the past threads if needed. I'm going to try to scratch up some or all of the old threads and move them in there, but I'm not making any promises. When making the nomination threads, there will also be more organization, and because some people refuse to read and other simply don't know the past winners are listed in the rules section, all ineligible winners will be listed in every nomination thread for easy reference for who can't be nominated.
As far as an idea that was recently brought up to get more people involved in voting, I'll let Neon speak on if having the ROTM poll on the home page will happen or not. It's a good idea and if it can be done, I feel like it will be, but it's not my call. Anyway, if anyone has any questions or comments, post them here.
