Short shift adaptor.

Well I installed my DC short shift adaptor exactly two weeks ago to this day. It took 20 minutes for me to install and only requires a screwdriver, socket wrench and an allen wrench. You need to unscrew six screws to take out the center console and then one bolt on the shift lever to add the adaptor. My new throws feel great. It is much more comfortable for me. For around $100.00 it is a very nice improvement but I wouldn't mind it being cheaper. Only down side is that it made a rubbing noise against my shift boot the first day or two but that problem has ceased for whatever reason. Great DYI mod that anyone can enjoy. I rate it an overall 4 out of 5.

I seriously don't know what else you guys want me to say. This is just my product review. I told you what I liked about it and I told you what I didn't like about it. This isn't a write up on "How to" install a short shift adaptor. I will take pictures next time I have the camera out but as for now if anyone else has any questions about my REVIEW I will gladly answer them.

they make Real short shifters
They make adaptors (would never have one myself)
there are lots of brands allthe wau from 30 dollars on ebay to 100 at dc..

we didnt know what you installed man! you just basially said "yeah i installed a ss" in like 500 words...lol

Lol sorry I didn't know the first picture I put up didn't work. I thought it was pretty self explanatory from looking at the picture what kind of adaptor I had but I get what you mean now. I just thought all I had to do was review my new product. I like how it feels when I shift now. I like that it took me 20 minutes to install my self. I like that it was an all right price. I didn't like that it made a rubbing noise on my shift boot the first two days but that problem went away for reasons I don't know. I believe I read it on this site that a short **** adaptor was some people favorite DYI mod so I decided to get it and I am very pleased with the results. If you have the money and want a tweak in your driving experience then do what I did and go pick up the same adaptor I got or one similar.

the adapter is a good idea but you can also do the same thing with alot less parts and it will be just as strong, when i am allowed to post picks i will show you guys my short throw.

yeah i know what your talking about you gotta shave some of the material from the front of the bottom of the boot b4 buttoning it back up or else the adapter with hit and rub. the manufacturers dont say it in the instructions but thats what your supposed to do. i ve had this adapter for about 2 years never had a problem. gears are closer shifts like stock. a lighter flywheel complements this well

I know about this adapter, its from DC and honestley. I didn't like it. felt wierd. Real SS are good.

So I jimmy rigged mine. I got a saw and took 5 inches off that bad boy, then I put some electric tape around the tip. Shoved a Mugen shifter on top.

Voila, and it seriously works better, I'd show some pics but...

I have the dc sports short shift adapter. It is not all that great. It does cut the throws down but it also does more harm than good. It binds up the whole assembly, and also makes it difficult to hit certain gears. Not to mention the fact that it didn't fit and I had to drill out the hole. It's better than nothing, but not as good as a true SS.

And E, you're wrong there is one for the 5th gen. You just gotta know the right people.

yeah, PSPEC makes any awesome adjustable short shifter for the 5th gen...def a step up from the DC, I've had both...
