hey im looking into buying a 86 prelude, what are some tips for buying one of these for less then800 or 650? there rust buckets but still nice even at 230 thou miles on it. this car is so rare i must have it. what do i need to know>? befor going down to the shisty used car deller:biggrin:

First of all is it carbureted or FI?

with the carbs, well it's a hassle to begin with being carbed. If it's auto, please check the transmission fluid. hmm. . .what more. there's a good chance the speedometer doesnt' work, but don't worry about it. uhh. . .door locks usually break on these, but as long as you have the keys your good.

If it's a stick, well these cars are notorious for the emergency brakes not workign, the cables are a pain to change. So keep that in mind. Si's have the proble with the ecu light going off, from what i've heard/read it isn't really a problem. Usually something little which isnt' a big deal. i mean these cars are over 20 years old. hmm make sure it isn't TOO rusted out. 230K miles is quite a bit too, maybe you wanna wait on something that's a little less used. . .

i wanted it for 600 but its gone, my job is lost, my money goes to bills and my sus lic ass is with out a ride or job

life is tough

but there will always be more honda'S

=/ sorry to hear man. These are great cars, always makes us feel good in bad times. Course they cause bad times! but good luck man, I know life can be hard. Hang around with us here, we have a nice community.
