V-tec question

Big noob here I recently bought my lude. I've been learning manual for the last 2-3 weeks and I'm pretty good at it now. Obviously I havn't mastered it but my inexperience stopped my curiosity of the v-tec. How does it kick in, is the boost significant. Basically drop any information or tips just so I know what happens before actually trying it because I don't want to do anything stupid.

It makes you go faster. It kinda feels if you got the pedal about hal to 3/4 down and then you just drop it all the way. on the 5th gen kick in at about 5200 rpm.

Firstly - it's VTEC, not v-tec, v-tech or vtech.

Basically it's a second set of cam profiles. When the revs pass the point of engagement (stock is 5200RPM) the high cam engages. What this basically allows is a cam profile for good low end torque and economy, and a cam profile for top end performance. The best of both worlds really.

It'll give you a better idea. Don't worry, it wont hurt your engine if you use it.

don't be skeered! just get into second and stay on the gas... wait... and then enjoy the "kick in the *ss" that unexpectedly launches you forward.

here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VTEC

enjoy... the h22 has one of the most noticeable vtec engagements.

vtec is very seductive. If time you hit it it takes away from your immune system. Until you have no resistance left and then you live in vtec. One can only imagine what that's like lol.
