Parking Lights into Turn Signals

I was wondering if anyone had ever converted the parking lights in the head light housing to turn signals. I assume you would need to re route the turn signal wires to the head lights so you could use the correct sized bulb.

Personally I don't like the look of the fog lights, it's just too busy down there with them and the turn signals. However, if I could put replace the turn signals with the fogs, that would be nice.

I put led bulbs in and they are very bright, which is what gave me the idea.

I thought about it, but decided against it. All you would need to do is cut the wires out of the parking light globe holder, and solder them to the turn signal wire.

However if you have your headlights on, it makes it incredibly hard to see the turn signal, which is why I didn't go ahead with it.

I've been contemplating this idea for a while now. After seeing Jesus' Lude at the last meet decided it for me. I want to make the turn signals into parking lights and make the parking lights in the headlight and the bumper lights into the turn signals. I'll change the bulb in the headlight to an amber one, maybe that will help it be a little more noticable.

I think you would have to modify the housing to fit the turn signal bulb (7440), it's bigger (and brighter) than the parking lights (168's). I think that would be bright enough.

You would.
I'm thinking to do it the most effectively without making too big of a mess, get some old side markers, cut the hole out for ther bulb, measure it, then cut in the other side of the turn signal and "plastic weld" it back together or get some butyl and seal it, then do all the wire work thats already been stated. That way, you could have parking lights and turn signals down there.
