Installing Infinity 1" Dome Tweeter

So I'm replacing the stock tweeter with an Infinity 1" dome tweeter. I might have simply mounted it where the old one was mounted if it weren't for two factors.

1. The tweeter is angled forwards, it should actually be perpendicular or angle slightly back.

2. There's not only a fake plastic grill but also a thick plastic lattice dampening the sound of the stock tweeter.

I figured I'd post some pictures for those interested in doing something similar.

Buck o5 on ebay and they sound great but must be amped. I'm using the 4 channel infinity amp that I picked up for around a buck on ebay. I'll post pictures of the 6 1/2" woofer install later. That is a much tricker thing to do.

I'm thinking about use fiberglass filler or bondo to fill in the areas where you can still see the psuedo-mesh and lattice to where it's all flush and making if have that vinyl immitation leather texture before giving the whole piece a few coats of duplicolor. How do you think that would look?

It looks like it would turn out pretty well. Your tweeter cup sits in there well. Rather than filling it with bondo use some high temp hotglue on the bottom as the base so your only using a very small amount of bondo. The glue will hold well in the grill of the factory peice. Experiment with waiting for the bondo to just about kick (before it actually cures) and press some vinyl down on it randomly. You may get a close texture.
