VC Gasket

I forgot to tell you guys..well after the 3k of spending at honda, when they opened my valve they didn't bother replacing the vc gasket with a new one..so they put the old one back on. When i first drove it out of there i smelt oil burning but i said to myself maybe when they opened it, it spilled on the heatshield etc...and its just burning it off. Well aparently i smelt a STRONG smell of oil one day. I open the hood, theres oil on my intake tube thing, all over my spark cover and vc on the left side, all over the distrubutor cap all that stuff, it was on the fans in front of the engine, everywhere. So i took if back to honda and asked if they replaced it, and they said no it was good, i showed them all the oil and they took it in. Me thinking there going to replace it..NOPEEEEE..they put some orange foam look a like on it i asked for an oil change to but i don't think they gave me one b/c there was no new sticker..so yeah this where my 3k went to, anyway my question is, you think this orange foam would hold the oil back from gushing out or i should get a new vc gasket?

god how do you ALWAYS end up dealing w/ the biggest dipsh!ts on the planet???

idk what that orange stuff is, but you took off the VC yourself right?
if you did, you should be able to replace the gasket yourself, instead of relying on those monkeys.

replace the gasket, and check your oil level. you're probably half a quart to a quart low.

I'd take my car right back up there, lay down the ****ing law and tell them to fix what they ****ed up on for free as well as give me a free car wash. They need to fix the problem since they're the last ones who touched it. For $3k worth of stuff, they should've replaced it anyways. You should also check to see if there's oil stains in the car so that they can give you a free detail

i think they took some change, the guy i bought it from i guess he left money in there for ''good luck'' like quarters..n stuff..n i remember i had a dollar bill in there, i can't seem to find that dollar, and it seems i got less change in the car..i know its just a dollar and some change..just the princepal ya kno?

im probably going to need to go back tomorrow b/c i think oil is still leaking out, its raining like crazy today.

I'd take it back and make them change it. You paid 3k right??? They steal stuff out your car too, they stole my remote for my DVD player and said it was never in the car to begin with, lol. But yeah, if you paid and asked them to replace it, then they should do just that. "THE (PAYING) CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!"

lol, maybe someone else does but I don't have the time for that. I slipped on a banana peel at walmart one day, laughed about it and continued onto get my grey goose, never thought twice about it, lol .

The orange that they put in there was probably RTV silicone... I bought some from pep boys when I did my valve cover gasket, you need a little bit in some of the corners on the passenger side or it will leak out there... The manual calls for honda bond but a good high temp RTV will work, that's probably what they did...

The funny thing is... since they are a HONDA DEALERSHIP... one would think they would use HONDABOND...

Doooosh bags.

Man do yourself a favor and stop taking your car to the same place that is consistently ripping you off...

Remember, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me..."

Don't let them turn you into the fool...

Valve cover gasket is an easy one, you could probably get it done in about an hour some time when your dad ain't home and he would never know the difference.

no no this isn't the same shop, the shop i took it to before was an independent shop..now i took it str8 to honda. 3k later this **** happens..meanwhile the guy that was supposedly helping me out said he saved me out in a couple 100 on labor..im going to check the abs now and let you guys know what code its throwing.

also E, i encouraged my dad to file a lawsuit against the other shop, and i would encourage him against honda, the only problem is that our f-in washing machine went last week now we gotta shell out 200 more just to repair this ****.. im just so ****in pissed..i wanted to get that sound out of my car..and they just tell me its the ac compressor and that its a slight sound so i can live with it..meanwhile the slight sound..is the ****in loud sound i been hearing since january..and obviously i can't live with it if i wanted it to get serviced..but w.e 3k later i guess i have to wait some more
