basically you take off the trapaziod piece of carpet on the pass side, at the end of the center consol, about where the radio is. theres a blue clip in there. unclip it. take a paperclip and bend it so you can get each end of the paperclip into the blue thing so your touching metal. (look at it with a flashlight, you'll see where the metal is and where to put the paper clip) with the paper clip in turn the key to like on. don't start the car, but turn it to the last stop before it starts. then watch the atts light. it'll start blinking. count the blinks. there will be short and long ones. so if you have 7 long and 2 short, your code is 72. you'd then look that up in the helms and see what the problem is. there might be more than one code, so keep counting until you cycle thru and get the same code again.

correct, you don't remove it while your pulling the code.

removing it resets the system/ecu

ABS DTC 81 Central Processing Unit (CPU) 19-62

Sounds like you need a new ABS computer... that's no fun.

And that's the only code you are throwing, correct?

See if you can find one from a partout somewhere, because I'm sure it's expensive as all sin new.

download the technician manual and refer to the page it's telling you to refer to (19-62)... it should have some troubleshooting information there so you can rule out other things before you bite the bullet and buy a new ABS computer

hey guys my abs has been on for a little bit now..and i read this to go check it but..when i pulled the blue clip out there was only 1 set of wires plugged in to it..so i am kinda confused pretty sure there is supposed to be 2. one of left one on right. just confused..i tried looking into the center to see if there was another one but couldn't see anything.
