Loss of power turns to knocking sound in vicinity of engine.

:(

I've noticed a loss of power the last couple days, then today it suddenly changed to an odd knocking sound in the vicinity of the engine.

This like just happened 20 mins ago so i'll give more info as I learn it.

But some background, i'm a lazy bastard so I took the lude for an oil change at jiffy lube a few weeks back. The bastards over filled my oil by at least 2x as much. I've learned my lesson, even if they arent the cause for my current issue.

I did bottom out the car a little hard this morning :( I imagine that may be more likely to have caused it.

I think I see some fresh oil on the bottom of the car, near the oil pan.

Help :(.

I wouldn't think the oil level being too high would cause anything but excess smoke.

Where is the knocking coming from? Is it a knock, or is it more of a tick?

it sounds like its coming from the head... its a solid rhythmic knock at idle and kinda sounds like a boiling pot in a way when rpms go just a little higher..... im no car mechanic but im guessing this is bad :)

Hmm....too much oil shouldn't be the issue...is it coming from the head or the tranny? and how hard did you hit the car when you "bottomed" it, you might of loosened something...
