Seatbelt wont retract

Anyone find their seatbelt needs help to retract? I guess its just worn out. It gets really annoying especially when the metal tongue smacks against my side window and scratches my tint... Anyone ever fixed this problem?

On other cars I've replaced the whole belt to fix that issue.

I am pretty sure that the seat belts will be replaced for free by Honda...I think I have read that some where on another forum...

They have a life time warranty, just take it to a Honda dealership and they will fix it for you.

And this is what you get for buying a 5th gen. It's a common problem. Mine even does it.

you guys are going to love me. Listen carefully I'm trying to hook you guys up!

Take it to your local Honda dealer, IF the seatbelts have stopped working due to normal wear and tear...and theres nothing inside of the "housing" for when the seatbelt retracts like, bits of food or, trash, anything like that, they will replace them FOR FREE

I know, because I got mine replaced for FREE :) I've posted about this already!! pay attention GAAAIS!

Seriously, for free!!! They even hooked me up with Black seatbelts instead of tan like my stock ones :)

Well, Im not the original owner, but Im gona take it down to the dealer and see if they will replace it. I never thought of it being a safety issue. The seatbelt locks normally... but HEY ill take free parts/service anyday! I might take it home first and open it up to check for debris in the housing first. Thanks! Oh, and I did do more than 1 search for seatbelts and didnt see anything. Sorry if this was a retread thread.

yeah make sure you guys check first or they'll charge you for like 50 bucks because if its not wear and tear its not covered under the warranty so the work put in to find out is something they will charge you for!!!!, just stick a vacuum nozzle in there if possible and get any bits of...whatever out lol

So you just go down to Honda and tell them to give you new seat belts and they will? There's no catch involved?

Yeah, I dropped my car off (at Priority Honda in Chesapeake for mcluder) and told them to fix it under warranty and that i wasn't paying for anything if the seatbelt wasnt warranty. They said ok. Now im just waiting for the part to come in (of course they dont stock parts for a 97). I should have just ordered it through parts before taking my car in for service, that way they would have the part in. But yeah they are fixing it under warranty and Im like the 3rd owner.

Also had a valve adjustment done, they quoted me $100 and then tried to charge me $172. I politely argued with the service writer and ended up payin $100. Watch out, they try to get you with that crap. They also had a list of crap my car needed, which I already knew....

I do recommend going to this dealer for anyone in hampton roads area, there are 2 service writers that are totally hot. Michelle and Laura. Smokin' hot.....

***I dont know whats worse, the person who created that smiley, or the person who just used it***

You can't just walk in and ask for em though, give them a reason...
"they won't retract correctly" "They stick" " the seatbelts lock for no reason when driving" etc etc

Just make up a reason to have them checked for free, just make sure you're not the reason why they're problem or you will have to pay for them checking them at which point if you still want them replaced you'll have to pay for them too because its not a wear an tear issue but a misuse issue....

Or of you're feeling rich, take your car to Honda for a service. They'll notice it when they get into the car to test drive it.
