Icon5 jdm tranny -> usdm motor?

hi all. new to the board as you see. got a question about mating a jdm h22 tranny to a usdm h22. the 98 lude is a non-sh auto w/ sport shift. the tranny went south couple of weeks ago and i was lucky enough to find and bought a jdm h22 mp1a tranny.

the mechanic visually checked the jdm tranny and said it won't be compatible. he also mentioned something about the harness being different or what not.

so is he somewhat correct? if so, what else is needed in order to make the lude running again? thank you all in advance for your help.

yes the JDM tranny will fit and work perfectly fine with a USDM motor.

yea, it won't work since the older Preludes don't have sport shift and they didn't start having that till 97
