Nick i think you were right!

Alright, so i didn't have a chance to open my VC, but after mailing Tim's springs, i was on my way home. I came to a red light, my engine felt like it shook, basically it felt like if someone was learning stick and they stalled the car. I was in neutral at a red light though..no contact with the clutch. Well anyway after i felt that i said **** this im going to honda. I talked to one of my dad's old friend, he sent me to a certified 31 yr's mechanic. I turned on the car, he said "Don't go to bs shops, your going to get bs work, he said your clutch probably was put on wrong, and your timing belt is either put on wrong, or your tensioner"

..so my dad calls me and tells me go back to the place we payed for the timing belt, they gurantee there work so tell them what honda said. I tell the guys at that shop, and they tell me "If it was put on wrong, then it would have never left the shop" w.e...anyway also, everytime after that wierd shake driving my way home, i put it in first from a takeoff it would make like..a noise of something ripping or something. Throughout everytime i was in first it would always do it till i hit the shop..so basically it didit fo a good 30 minutes, the guy at the place i changed my t-belt, he took it for a test drive and didn't hear it. I went with him and it didn't do it..i was like wtf . I know my joint's in the front are dry b/c they make a noise everytime i turn but yeah..it defintely wasn't that

Update #1

Figured i'd give you guys an update. So today, i went to a performance shop for my friend, he wanted to get AMG exhaust on his mercedes. So i thought to myself, maybe i should show the guy, thats helping my friend out my noise on my car. He said, it sounds like its coming from the distributor area. I told him i changed my clutch Jan 1 of this year. He said it could be a loose bolt on the clutch or something. I knew it wasn't that because it sounded like a belt, but i was really hoping it was. So long story short, i went to the clutch guy, he told me its the timing belt, he even told me, when you rev up with the throttle cable, you hear it spinning faster and faster. So then after 3 mechanics telling me the same thing (Honda mechanic, Performance guy, Clutch guy) i said F-it im going back to the place i got it done and told them this is what everyone tells me. You know what they told me? The owner of the store told me this..i swear on God on this.

"The problem when you first brought it in, the timing belt was hitting the valve cover, we had to change the cover it was eating it up inside. After we put it all back together, we don't know where the sound is coming from, it could be the tranny, or from inside the head. He said your best way to save yourself money is, just use it and either the problem will get worse, or go away, and if it gets worse at least we'll know what it is exactly"

So basically if i'm driving down the highway doing 70, my car turns off, IM ****ED because i can't steer b/c of power steering, and my brakes won't work as efficent..and if i were to make it out alive i would have to pay towing for a problem that they should've fixed.

My dad got pissed, and said we payed you 1300 +!!!, you guys should fix this problem, we payed for it to be fixed. They told me to bring my car in tomorrow morning.

Also may i add, my car felt like it was going to turn off as i was driving to the place for my t-belt, and i was listening to music at my time, i said it could'nt have been my subs. I turned off my head unit, and yeah it did it again, the car felt like it wanted to just give up

i think you've already come to this conclusion:
tell every and anyone you know about how sh!tty the service @ that shop is and how they dont back up their own work. dont recommend them to a single sole.

yea it probably would....it depends on how oil gets up there, does it squirt or does it seep? Also the cams would fling it around. I only did this on my jeep and the oil just seeps up through the push rods..theres no ohc. But either way, you can do it if you wanted lol.

Update 2!!

Picked up the car..guess what they said its not the timing belt. My dad got pissed and said well, if a honda certified 31 yr's mechanic told me its the timing belt and it is, right after my dad said that the owner pitched in and said, if it's the timing belt, "i will literally drive down there with my mechanic", my dad said ok and we just left. Also..now i hear another ****ing noise..im getting really pissed off.

No offense... but you need to not walk out on that guy... you should have gotten what he was saying in writing before walking out... this way you have written confirmation of your story if you ever need to take him to court. Don't let anger get the best of you

nick, i just thought about it, presume the timing belt is fine, the water pump etc, but do you think they changed the pullys?, or was that already included in the t-belt kit u think

No one brought it up, so I thought I would add my $0.02. Maybe the balance shafts where not aligned correctly that could cause some bad shaking.

i just realized what mofo said, yeah we didn't want to walk out on him but they didn't even want to at least help us enough to see where the sound is coming from, i mean if i payed 1300 just for a timing belt change, i better get great ass service..but i understand your point. Also, could he be right ^^, the balance shafts weren't aligned correctly?
