What would cause this?

On wiki it says our 5th gens "The fifth generation curb weight was 1310 kg (2882 lb)" When i registered my car, and the guy i bought it off from gave me the title. It stated 2861. What would be the cause of lost of 21lbs? I know this might sound dumb, but would it be the cruise control and stock steering wheel?:tape2:

look in your engine bay and see if there is a big plunger lookin thing above your driver side wheel, if its there, thats the cc control thing, if its not there, then it was removed all the way.

i wouldn't trust the title. depending on where it's registered, there's either a database of weights (human controlled, subject to human error), or the weight is entered by the person doing the title who may or may not know how to look it up.

honestly, i'd go with the sticker on the car over anything else until you physically take it to a scale and find out what it weighs.

Yes, because university professors know every obscure detail about Honda Preludes.

The professors do check it, but if I go in and list my interests as Preludes, if I change one number or spec, then it will probably be left alone, since it is perceived that I know more about it. Or something like that, that's how it was explained to me.

Not to mention that the scale may not have been calibrated properly.

Find a truck/rest stop on an interstate highway and see if they'll let you weigh your car =P.

The CC is on the firewall.... i mean bulkhead (gah that drives me crazy) on the passenger side on the 5th gens.. where the ABS unit is on the 4th... and ABS is where our CC is.. in front of the driver side wheel behind the headlight.

just sayin.
