Check Engine Light On *yikes*

well over the last week ive noticed that my car hasnt been gettin as good of gas mileage as normal and then today the check engine light came on...i plan on going and gettin a diagnostic run on my car but was wondering if anyone had a clue what it could be and maybe could get my mechanic friend to fix it...any ideas welcome...thanks...

I never got a printout... They didn't even do it for me, they just gave me the obdII scanner and told me to go have at it. I had to write the codes on the back of a receipt... with my own pen.
