What Brand And Size Of Tire???

How wide are your rims mate? 225 will give a large contact area, but you will run the risk of rubbing, depending on widths and offsets etc.

I've not heard a bad thing about Falkens, and I've not heard a good thing about Nittos.

I've got Toyo Tranpath 215/40/R17 and would overall reccommend them as a good all round tyre. (If you're happy with that then stop reading)

However they are a little noisy at higher speeds. Come to think of it they're a little noisy at low speeds too, like through town you know thye're there. They seem to be wearing ok, but I've not had them 12 months yet, I'll get back to you on that.

As for performance, they're good but not great. I've found their limits a number of times up in the hills, and can honestly say I won't be buying them again.

215/40R17

Speedo will be off by 1.2%... speedo will read 100km/h, but you'll actually only be doing 98.8km/h

If you go 45 profile instead, then it'll be OVER by 2.3% - which is bad (i.e. you'll be doing 102.3km/h when your speedo says 100km/h)

(I know it's metric but the idea is the same, and all assuming that your speedo is accurate at the start)

215/40 would be too thin of a tire for me, especially around here in va beah with these roads....ill have to check the width of the rims i guess for the 225/45....but looks like ill be going to the 215/45 now...thanks guys
