Ok, that was stupid.

A/F ratio is a good one, as is voltage (esp if you have a big stereo) and oil pressure. I've heard of people putting in oil temperature as well but can't see the value in it.

But you dont' really need any of them unless you have got/plan on doing a big NA build.

lol, those gauges arent needed unless you're building a naturally aspired motor. I would say if anything fuel to air ratio would be ok

What do you guys think about the guys with the monster tac and shift light ? like- who needs that?! its not like you're revving 7k to go to the super market! LOL!

who said you only need those gauges for n/a applications??? gauges are gauges, and they can be used for a stock car if somebody just wants to add them for looks... its not like they dont function for a reason(if they are insstalled properly)...i got mine when i though i was gonna buy a s/c soon after, but things changed and now its later....so i have the gauges still, and kinda serves a purpose since vtec does run off oil psr and would be good to know if your oil is hot as hell(since it burns easier when in vtec), a/f ratio may not be as legitimate, but oh well, at least i have them now and dont have to worry about buying them later with the s/c

Well I am not one for adding gauges because it looks cool, If I needed them to monitor how the motor is operating, as for a stock motor I think I would use the stock gauges (looks IMO, is all show and no go)

It works as a code reader and can show all kinds of info your ecu puts out in real time while u drive. I find all kinds of uses for mine, rpms, intake air temps, speed, throttle position, fuel economy, battery voltage, I was just looking at the site and i guess you can program in a gauge for horsepower now, i'll try that in the morning.

word, useless gauges are rice...if you don't have work done there is no need for any of that stuff...

tach - useless, unless you need to rev past what the stock scale provides

voltage - useless, if you have a stereo you're going to be able to tell if you're voltage is dropping

temp - useless unless you need to know when you're reached a certain temp (i.e - when you're pistons / sleeves have finished expanding)

a/f - this does nothing, most likely when you turn it on it will sit at whatever you have your a/f tuned for and fluctuate a little just like your idle my buddy took his off his cooper s because he realized how useless it was

oil pressure - more for people with turbos or modified oil systems (oil coolers, filter relocation)

Might as well just mount a clock in there also...

^^^ i agree with u mostly but i think there is nothing wrong with an oil pressure gauge or water temp...the stock OPS does not tell u that u have low oil pressure until its below like 7psi or so and if u are cruisin at 3500rpm i dont want to know that i have low or no oil pressure when its already below 7psi... i had a seal blow out on me and the stock OPS is slow to pick it up and i drove more miles than i would have likes with low and then no oil pressure

For you automatic equipped fellas I think you are leaving out Trans temp. From what I understand the autos in these cars aren't exactly bullet proof, and the number 1 enemy of automatic transmissions is heat....

Food for thought.
