I'm not sure if that is true or not, but it definitely wouldn't surprise me. Many newer cars have that anti-theft plate. Sorry bro, i really don't know what to do in your situation, but i can promise you that getting the door panel off without being able to open the door up, is gonna be a MAJOR bitch. You might even have to try and get your driver's seat out and maneuvre it out the passenger door... i can't think of any other way to get enough room to get the panel off... and even then it's gonna be a pita. Sorry bro, someone help this man! Bump for great justice!

yeah i have already been told by a honda mechanic that if i couldnt get the door open any other way i would have to get the seats out just to get enough leverage to rip the bitch out. i just dont wanna go that route if i dont have to.

X2...get that off and see what's up. You would have to remove that anyway in order to get the main panel off. Don't rip anything off, do it right.

"ok i got it apart and the spring inside of the latch was broke, so i found a new spring and made it work. thanks for the help."

I've got the very same problem. Did you have to pull the whole inner door panel off? Did you need to get the door open first? Was the spring under the panel where the inner handle is located? Sorry, so many questions.

My 92 SI worked great and then poof, nothing from the inside or outside. I hate to crawl in the window or do the passenger side. Please help!

Re: My Door Won't Open!!

I have a 92 SI and I have the same problem. 1bad, you fixed yours, what did it take? Did you need the door open? Did you need to pull off the whole inner door panel? Was it behind the inner handle panel? I need some help here before I rip into this thing!

Re: My Door Won't Open!!

you're going to have to take the door handle itself apart, and check everything out.

Re: My Door Won't Open!!

My plan is to dig into it this weekend. I do have a couple of questions though.

Did you have to get the door open and if so, how?

Was the malfunction under the inside panel that houses the inner lever, mirror, lock, window controls?

Any elaboration on your part could save me a bunch of time.

Thanks in advance,

Tune

Re: My Door Won't Open!!

i took mine to a body shop and had them open the door for me and help me take the handle apart. im pretty sure it was the spring that is in most of the pictures in this writeup: EXT: How To fix 5th gen "winged" door handles (PICS) then again this happened a little over 2 years ago and memory is a little fuzzy.

Re: My Door Won't Open!!

Just happened to me too. I have the inner door panel off, but to get to the latch you have to open the door - how to do that when the latch won't, er, un-latch?

This is real serious, please assist guys!
