Primered Black 5th Gen

Is it just me or would a completly primered black prelude look sick??

anyone else watch rob and big and see there new truck thats all primered? Im not considering it but i heard its more expensive than a regular paint job because getting the primer to smooth out is really hard.

anywho, heres the pic that sparked my thought:

The whole flat black paint idea was started by the Rat Rodders in the late 50s. The main difference between a regular hot rod and a rat rod was that everything about a rat rod was about being on a tight budget, hence the flat black paint job. And on a 32 Deuce Coupe flat black and white walls looks tough as, even if it did give the impression that the project wasn't yet finished.

But wind the clock to 2008 and it still looks like the paint job hasn't been finished.

flat black look like $hit but satin black is the color that looks good aka the skunk2 civics the baller ass f430s you've seen pics of. Oh and primer lets water through so it will rust were the satin is in the clear coat and is really hard to get right btw. So really your painting the car with just a black then you put the satin clear on it to get the effect of the flatness.

yea yea thats what rob dyrdek did to his. Because i remeber reading an article about the owner of DC skate who had a cl550 something benz and it was rediculously expensive to get the flat black paint job because its soo hard to perfect.

i do agree the satin black looks good on some cars, i have a friend that used to have a 95' accord and it was satin black with some gun metal wheels and was slammed and it was badass lookin. but i just couldnt imagine it on a 5th gen.

It's not hard to get the primer smooth but it will just take some time. I think you should do whatever you like

I don't think a dull primer black lude would look good but maybe a satin black paint....seen that before in pics of a Ferrari (i believe) and it looked sick.

alright, 1st why primer, if your going to do this why wouldnt you do it right and buy flat black??

2nd i think flat back is just a dumb idea i would rather keep my faded red paint then have a flat car, theres just no gleem to it, no show case, and i think that the 5g was meant to gleem, if were going to try to win any battle over the 4g we can try and say that our 5g's are shiny!

Kidding all you 4ths

Go for it...

Do what you feel would look good - it's your car. I think if you can make the job look as good as the rob n' big suv then hell yeah do it. It also may require a lot of other mods i.e. lights, tints, wheels, etc. to make the entire car work with the paint job.
