Time to get the V2

ok so I just got paid finally and I figured that now its the time to get that v2 baby!! okk so question is how much am I willing to pay for this ? I dunno what did you guys pay and where did you get it?

i went with a K&N intake and it was like 200-240$
its pretty crazy and im positive the V2 costs even more.

I got mine at www.prostreetonline.com although I don't recommend buying from them because, well...long story...anyway...think I paid around $250...can't remember exactly.

Wow I mean the starting price for the V2 is 298 plus tax in prostreetonline and then I checked the AEM short ram and it only cost 130 for the prelude.... I don't know I might end up getting the short ram because I hear good things about the V2 but just looking at the price tag scares the **** outta me cause of the fact that I get paid 8.50 an hour and itll cost me overtime just to work for it.. I mean I dont know if it'll be the real bang for the buck thats all .. any suggestions on value intakes out there.. should I get the short ram for 130?

Yea, the V2 is pretty expensive...I mean, I recommend it...but it's definitely expensive.

It should fit. I know a few guys who are running 5g Type S intakes on 4g ludes with no chagnes to make it fit.

Ok so I think I'm going to go for the short ram AEM intake.. it'll be cool right now if anybody tells me any flaws about this product, I'll probably end up ordering it this weekend.. thanks in advance

Well the short ram is gonna absorb engine heat from under the hood, but at the same time, i think the v2 does also... I don't think it's really a big deal though, not a major power killer. You can always build a heat shield for it to stop some of that heat absorbtion. I personally prefer a cold air intake over both of them, but to each his own.

I have the V2, as I said...but I wouldn't recommend it. Its a wee bit esspensive... But hey. if you have the money for it, go for it. Otherwise, go for something a little more practical. Leave the whale cocks to the people who have bad credit...like me! *thumbs up*

remember though, you only get the maximum power gain through the intake, and exhaust mods if they are done together as one whole unit....just adding one or the other will only get you gains like 1-2whp...i got the v2 with a header, high flow cat., and cat-back and gained 8whp....so its up to you on what you want to spend and what you want to buy, and also think about what future mods you may want to buy so you dont feel like the money went to waist....
