Yea man, driving a manual is definitely worth it. Having never done the swap since mines an SH, I wouldnt know about driving an auto Lude...but i drove a 4200 lb automatic V8 sedan...and it was fun, but with a manual you have so much more control over the engine speed and its much easier to control the car in corners...I'd say go for it man. Autos are lame...no offense to any of the auto-luders on here. I love you all. No Homo

EDIT! you won't gain any hp or anything...but the power will get to the ground more efficiently...it may be slower off the line than an auto, but 5 gears are better than 4...
In the autos, after every shift, you drop out of VTEC range. the 5sp is geared to stay in VTEC the entire time. YAY to Manuals

Not quite there Jesse. I can hold mine on the high cam between shifts.

You won't gain any HP, but like has been said you'll get the power to the ground more effectively. An auto box drives through a torque converter, which is a fluid filled device, therefore there's always delay, and you never quite get 100% of the torque transmitted to the tarmac. Whereas on the manual box, it drives through a clutch with zero slippage when disengaged.

More answers here.

Transmission Swap

5th gen convert

EDIT

I just realised that you started the other thread on this. How come start tho threads on the same question?

Doing a transmission conversion changes your Preludes personality 180.

Remember, you have options of which type of manual transmission you want to use:

Transmission FAQs

So is it worth it? if you want a different taste of your Prelude, do it.
