UNLOWERING a lude.....

thats right i said it. unlowering a lude.... hopefully not *completely* though.

my search for a lude is ridiculously vast. and like all pre-owned car purchases just about anything you look at has it's +'s and -'s. one particular car i'm looking is dropped.... TOO dropped imho. i love a nice, modest 1"-ish drop as much as the next guy, but you start seeing your rubber tucked up in to the wheel well and it's starting to looking silly, again that's just me. not to mention out where i live, some of the shopping areas / restaurants have stupidly steep 'driveways' in to the parking areas (ssscccrraaaaaaaaape)

anyway i've shot them an email asking for details regarding what they did to drop it. now i have ZERO experience with modding, lowering, boosting cars, so i'm a complete nub....

....SO my question to this killer community of luders is, how hard would it be to raise it up a bit based on the possible scenarios regarding how it was dropped?.... did that make sense? i know it may be tough to cover all the possibilities, but i just want to know how feasible it may be to lift this thing so it's not dragging it's knuckles everywhere i go, hopefully without having to buy stock springs / suspension whatever.

THANKS

Well chances are he put on a new set of springs, and probably new coilovers. In which case it's not to hard to reverse, just ask him if he has the originals and if he does you should be fine.

Some times they are adjustable, I have Skunk2 springs and they are adjustable. Take it from someone who bought a car that is just a little too low...it sucks driving around town! Street parking becomes your unwanted friend. I can't even park in the employee lot, the drive way is too steep.

if they are not coilovers, chances are the springs may have been cut, if this is the case then u will need a new set of springs..i cut mine and the tires were under the arch and it scraped everywhere. i have now taken them out and replaced them with tein s tech springs

hehe cool thanks. yeah i think 3/4" is perfect.

yeah i'm really hoping it's adjustable, i'm waiting to hear back from the guy. if it is, then it makes my decesion is really easy, 98 sebring silver lude with body kit, spoiler, tinted windows, 5spd, phenominal shape, 100k miles (nothing on a Honda baby! and i sell H's so i get my service for cheap), good price, and again my only gripe is the drop.

If its got coilovers your golden, they are adjustable, if not get a set of springs with a milder drop, not too expensive. Just make sure if it aint coilovers he/she got a nice set of shocks/struts, otherwise they are probably spent and you are gonna have to replace them, a little more expensive. Eithe way TEIN s techs from what I here is a pretty mild drop.
